In an effort to tap the tea party voter base, Ron Paul announced Tuesday that he will be forming a presidential exploratory committee, offering up a second chance at the Republican presidential bid.
Congressman Paul formed a sort of "cult" following during the 2008 election, raising more than $35 million but falling short of wooing any caucasus or primaries.
But Paul claims the country has changed since 2008, with "literally millions of more people now concerned about things I talked about four years ago." This may be true, and so far Paul's views on high government spending and the Federal Reserve's irresponsible rate changes are, arguably, more critical than any other Republican candidate.
Maybe things will be different for Paul this time around. After all, his ideology follows the tea party initiative to a T, and back in 2008, this grassroots movement had yet to sprout.

Ron Paul’s chances have doubled.
From 1% to 2%.
The Paulbots are like followers of Scientology.
Ohhh.... good grief!!!!!
BWAHAAAAAAHAAAAAAA! Paul has a better chance this time around. The man who’s a Truther, blames America for the 9/11 attacks, and believes we shouldn’t defend ourselves militarily, has a better chance this election. Yeah, right. The man’s a kook. He’s also well into his 70’s. Give it up.
Ron Paul has no chance. The average voter is stupid!
Better chance of what ? Going to Shady Pines ? He’ll be 77 in 2012.
What is it that the pervert Paul thinks he has a better chance at? Dividing the votes of the right-wing in order to help Obama and the democrats?
I talked to two Paulbots at my work yesterday and they both are excited to support Paul. Then I asked them if they were worried that Paul would divide the vote and help Obama and they both admitted that worried them.
If Paul really care about the direction of the country then he would drop out and support a real conservative for the republican nomination.
He does not stand even a remote chance of being elected with anti-American rhetoric that blames America and appeases our enemies.
Surely this time Paultard strikes a paper match at the bottom of the ocean it will light right up.
How many times can that fail...
Minus the common sense and charm.
And movie stars.
Let’s get serious. He is going to be 76 in August. If McLame got the label of being someone’s grandfather, Paul is ancient!
They really are. I remember four years ago they were all wetting themselves and saying that Ron Paul was going to surprise everybody and win the GOP nomination.
Here they go with that same silliness again...
Gotta admit, though...the Paulbots can be quite entertaining. To a point.
Then they just get obnoxious.
