It is often said, “So goes California, so goes the nation.” So, when the California State Senate passed SB 48, The FAIR Education Act, last week that would mandate all California Public Schools (including alternative and charter schools) be forced to teach gay history, the positive contributions of gays and banning subject matter reflecting adversely upon gays… you better believe this trend is coming your way regardless of where you live.
The FAIR Education Act is not only distasteful, it is disgusting. The bottom line is that this legislation would shove a left wing social agenda down the throats of innocent children. It is a classic example of the state undermining the parents. And it is indoctrinating impressionable children as early as kindergarten who, by law, are captive audiences.
One of the major arguments Democrats make about Republicans is that they attempt to impose their moral values, religious beliefs and social agenda through the government. They point to Republican legislation that opposes the drug war, abortion, government funded stem cell research, euthanasia and so on to bolster their argument that Republicans are out to force their wicked “social conservatism” onto the most vulnerable of Americans. Then after some successful fear mongering, voters give Democrats a little power and that’s when the real government imposed “progressive social engineering” begins.
California, overflowing with Democrat power in the state legislature and now with Jerry “Moon Beam” Brown as Governor, is in the midst of a social rebirth that imposes a left wing agenda onto every man, woman and child in the state. The FAIR Education Act, sponsored by a gay Democrat, Mark Leno, and co-sponsored by a lesbian Democrat, Christine Kehoe, and supported by Equality California, a gay advocacy group, passed the state Senate along party line votes. If enacted, it would become the seventh law of sexual indoctrination in the last twelve years.
Ladies and gentlemen, we’re in the middle of a culture war and the front lines of that war are taking place in California’s classrooms.
So, what specifically does The FAIR Education Act mandate? I read SB 48 and condensed the most important and relevant passages. They are as follows:
1. “Instruction in social sciences shall include the early history of California and a study of the role and contributions” of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people.
2. “A teacher shall not give instruction and a school district shall not sponsor any activity that reflects adversely upon persons promotes a discriminatory bias on the basis” of sexuality.
3. “The state board or and any governing board shall not adopt any textbook, textbooks or other instructional materials for use in the public schools that contains any matter reflecting adversely upon” gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people.
4. “When adopting instructional materials for use in the schools, governing boards shall include only instructional materials which, in their determination, accurately portray the cultural… contributions of” gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people.
5. “A governing board shall not adopt any instructional materials for use in the schools that, in its determination, contains… any matter reflecting adversely upon persons on” gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people.
In essence, the state is mandating that teachers educate children, as young as six, about homosexuality, bisexuality and transgendered people. It mandates that textbooks and instructional materials must positively promote “lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans” as role models. Teachers, textbooks and instructional material will be made to positively portray these alternative lifestyles rooted in sexual intimacy because even silence on the issues can bring the charge of “reflecting adversely.” Children will be taught to support the political activism of non-traditional sexual and gender political groups and requires “particular emphasis on portraying the role of these groups in contemporary society.”
And the kicker? Parents will not be notified, nor will they be able to exempt their children, from this new core curriculum.
In order for the schools to be able to promote lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans role models, they must first teach their students what these sexual orientations and gender identification issues are… which means children will be taught sexual and gender awareness as well as different forms of human sexual behavior and activities. Clearly, these are controversial topics that thousands upon thousands of parents find objectionable and many teachers will be uncomfortable, but forced, to teach.
Mandating teachers to cover such subject matter removes the child’s mother and/or father from the role as a parent and provides the teacher with the power to alter the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of a child. It also subverts the parent’s rights to impart personal cultural values and social skills as and when they see fit. And because no child matures at the same rate, there is a great potential for such subject matter to perverts a child’s innocence (not because of the introduction of gay sex… but the premature introduction of sex), potentially causing long term developmental harm.
According to the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA), the organization that promotes student-run lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning clubs in middle schools (yes, middle schools) and high schools, they expect this legislation will promote such prominent figures as Harvey Milk and Bayard Rustin and such events as the Stonewall Riots.
According to the law, the students will not learn that Harvey Milk, at 33, had a sexual relationship with a 16 year old boy… making him a pedophile. They probably won’t learn that Bayard Rustin was a communist or that he was convicted for violating the Selective Service Act and sentenced to three years hard labor or that he gave a speech in 1986 titled, “The New Niggers Are Gays.”
Rioting will be regarded as positive forms of activism and the destruction of personal property of others will be omitted. One phrase that was uttered during the Stonewall Riots that saw four police officers get injured, “When did you ever see a fag fight back?” certainly won’t be taught.
Will children be introduced to the annual Dyke March and Gay Pride Parade? Will a homework assignment unintentionally expose very young children to sexually explicit photos so readily available on the Internet? In doing a Google image search for the word “Gay,” one out of every three photos was sexually explicit. “Lesbian” netted sexually explicit images in more than one out of every two images. “Bisexual” resulted in the most sexually explicit images by far. This is not the school’s business.
But the state want to make sure the contributions of gays are firmly fixed in the minds of young children. I’m curious, what is the relevance between who a person has sex with and their accomplishments? Furthermore, why does the state feel compelled to marry these notions together? Did Greg Louganis win four gold medals as a diver because he was gay? Did Jodie Foster win two Academy Awards because she likes girls? Was “The Picture of Dorian Gray” and “The Importance of Being Earnest” literary masterpieces because Oscar Wilde was bisexual? Did Wally Scott, turned Angela Morley, win two Emmys for music arrangement because of a sex change? Seriously, what does sexual attraction and/or gender identification have to do with achievement? Nothing… but the state of California wants achievement associated with gays and anything that might “reflect adversely” upon gays banned.
Is it not safe to say that children, at a very young age, will walk away from this curriculum thinking accomplishments were made not because these are extraordinary people happen to be into alternative lifestyles, but will begin to believe that their achievements are a result of who they have sex with?
This law is more than just prohibiting sexual discrimination, it imposes a state sponsored administration of a political agenda… it undermines parents and is total and complete indoctrination. And while it claims it is a vehicle of “tolerance,” the mandate that does not notify parents nor allows parents the ability to exempt their children is quite intolerant. This is why it is so revolting.
Unless this legislation can be defeated in the legislature, and the odds are it won’t, it will become law. It may get challenged in the same way “gay marriage” in California was challenged and defeated, by a ballot proposition, but it could be years before it is finally settled. In the meantime, similar laws like this will begin to explode all across the nation because… so goes California, so goes the nation.
Gays reject diversity.

This can easily be shot down in court. Banning truth is, amazingly, still illegal. If there are negative historical issues that involved gays, they cannot be banned from being taught - and "textbook, textbooks or other instructional materials" can be stopped for not including them if they are, in fact, true and relevent.
Just because liberals and Leftists insist on bias and hypocrisy, doesn't mean it can't be effectively fought and shot down. But people have to want to do it, and deal with it as it is in the law. That's where the battlefield is, and that's where the Rats are fighting. If you want to beat them, you have to go out onto the field to do it.
This is apparently going to help stop the bullying of gays.
I have an idea: how about we role-model/teach kindness/tolerance to help stop bullying. Or are they just wanting to make the bullied into the bullies?

the gay population is ageing and the numbers are dropping like a rock. Youth enticed into the gay lifestyle tend to reject it for conventional heterosexual lifestyles.
Gary Gates, of the Williams Institute on Sexual Orientation Law and Public Policy, recently put the current number of gays in America as low of 700,000 and as high as 4 million - far fewer than the “10 percent” of Alfred Kinsey and much lower than the advertised 3-5%.
Seven-hundred-thousand ageing and increasingly impotent individuals is certainly not sufficient number to warrant the millions of special-interest dollars spent on their group. In order to keep going federal grant and preferential employment programs that directly benefit them, it’s apparent gays must find unnatural ways to increase their numbers, even if it’s temporarily. Preying on impressionable youth, already pre-indoctrinated by a liberalcentric public school system is a logical next step for them.
In California public schools, “going gay” can mean the difference between being ignored as invisible and being instantly popular. Failure to placate “gays” is equivalent to being labeled racist. In fact, many gays are the centers of attention in school since it’s unimaginable for one not to be able to claim they have at least two gay friends. Fortunately for society, ‘going gay’ loses its appeal once high-school is over and popularity contests amongst peers are overshadowed by the requirement for a real-world work skill-set. imo jmo

It seems like when the liberals are in control, the liberal agenda flourishes and succeeds, but when the conservatives are in control, they just slow down the liberal agenda...
