By ignorance we mistake, and by mistakes we learn
So what happens when open minded progressive students get a chance to put their mouth where other people's money is? (See the video embedded at the original post here or at YouTube.) To a person every student opposes the idea, and thinks redistributing GPA is different from income. Why is it different? These girly boys are not man enough to admit their hypocrisy, that's why. The "progressive" tax comes knocking on their academic door and their "intellect" can't handle the confrontation. It's so simple, if a high GPA is the key to greater opportunities to get into a better college, or grad school, or med school, or law school...or forget better, how about to qualify for admission period, then a GPA ammounts to academic "income" that is EARNED. Who wants to work hard for that 4.0 when some a-hole is just going to knock it down to a 3.0...or a 2.0, so some other a-hole who majors in parties and getting laid "has a better chance" at what will truly become "just a piece of paper" if this proposal ever became reality. Actually, if we want do know the real difference between redistributing income and GPA, it's that GPA can't be used as a political weapon by the left to get votes for themselves. These students would've been totally agreeable to this if they were ignorant jerks, with no education whatsoever, dictating this policy to the people working hard to earn the GPA they have. This is the American left/liberalism/progressivism/socialism....mired in willful ignorance.

Good post!
Good judgment comes from experience, experience comes from bad judgment.

When liberals are the “haves” instead of the “have-nots”, then all of a sudden their Marxist, utopian “redistribution” ideals don’t work for them.
It’s all part of the pathology and hypocrisy which defines the left.
I want to see some FReeper school teacher try this with their students and see what the reaction is! Watch the children freak, the parents freak, and the local teacher’s union freak. Then explain it was a joke to teach that redistribution of property isn’t a good idea.
Any FReeper teachers willing to give it the old college try? LOL!
Any government that takes from Peter and gives to Paul can always count on Paul’s support.
I can just hear what each of those students are thinking.
It doesn’t apply to me because I worked hard to get my GPA.
The rich don’t work hard to earn their money therefore it is not the same.
Wait until their time comes to earn a “real” living.
It’d also be a lesson in how the Left promotes the idea of “equality.”
This is fantasitic! These two students show the abject hypocrisy of their fellow students!
This student also posted raw video segments from this linked video. Check this girl out...she falls right into the trap!

It really is encouraging to know that some of our young people really do “get it!” Hats off to these young people!
I love the analogy. “Why do you NEED a 4.0 gpa?” Just like liberals trying to limit what a person “should” earn.
I like it. I saw a few uncomfortable people. :)
LMAO...perfect exposure of the collectivist mindset..
Hypocrites to the core...
I said, welcome to your government. Look at the gross and the net on the pay stub, then ask yourself if your ideas about government are sound. It's taken me years, but I have chipped away at a lot of that attitude.

Leftist teachers do actually try things like this, but it is usually much more subtle.
Nearly 30 years ago when I was in high school my social studies teacher decided to divide the class up into groups of five or six and give each group a collective grade.
I was one of those students with a 4.0 gpa and of course he stuck me in a group of screw ups and slackers. Well, I decided to go Galt on them and whatever the others did, I did too. I sat around and talked, looked at girls, bailed on class just like the others. I knew I had already earned enough for me to get an A out of the class.
At the end of the project, my liberal teacher told me how disappointed he was that I didn’t pull the others across the finish line with me.
I told him how disappointed I was in him for expecting me to pull the wagon while everybody else got a free ride.
I don’t know if he learned his lesson or not.
In the early days of Communism a Party worker goes out to explain the new system to the farmers.
He finds a farmer, and says that under Communism, if one farmer has two cows and another farmer has none, the first farmer must give one cow to the other farmer.
The farmer agrees that this is a good idea.
The Party worker then says that if one farmer has two goats and another farmer has none, the first farmer must give one goat to the other farmer.
The farmer agrees that this is a good idea.
The Party worker then says that if one farmer has two chickens and another farmer has none, the first farmer must give one chicken to the other farmer.
The farmer says that this is a terrible idea.
The Party worker asks why it's a terrible idea.
The farmer replies, "I have two chickens!"
Done it already. :)
What happened? Did you set aside a small group of students who were more equal than the rest, too?
I brought candy.
Everytime a student got a question right, I put it aside.
I separated each one so that the students thought they’d get the candy after class.
Then when class was over I shoved them all together and divided them evenly.
Lesson learned.
