Editor: They've done quite a job on the Catholic Church already.
Does anyone remember when Richard Nixon discussed one of the redeeming features of the Soviet Union as being its antipathy of homosexuals when he was talking in his office about Archie Bunker, said exactly the same thing? [Warning, fowl language, blasphemy] At first he starts demurring, saying he has no moral objections to homosexuality, then goes on to say that the immorality actually destroys societies. It's also interesting that Nixon's off-color comments are made much of when figures like Gandhi and Voltaire get away with it. Of course, apologists for Richard Nixon won't defend what Nixon was saying, they'll just argue that times, and morals, have changed, and if you know anything about principles, it's an indefensible position to take, but anyway.
Of course, never mind Richard Nixon, despite the fact that he's correct. Let another voice speak by way of a message from Bminormass on 'www.fisheaters.com", who said in his book, "Life is Worth Living" on P. 260, where he quotes the sociologist, Dr. Sorokin, who said:

You made some very good points and hope this mod doesn’t pull your post #178. There is something very wrong with this mod.
Indeed
Try, try again. Get the truth out there.
+1!
We were instructed early on to not post on this thread.
Many posts have been removed because of the rules of the Religion Forum which were not adhered to.
Repeating pulled posts is against the rules also.
Sorry to post on the thread again, but we felt it was necessary because of the many misconceptions.
This was a good article which we decided to leave in the Religion Forum, which we do on occasion.
I hope this answers your questions because we don’t want to get up from the floor with the dogs to post again.
:-)
THIS ANSWERS NOTHING. THIS EVADES THE POINT.

I’m on cell phone so now I have read back through to find the ZOT
Well that sucks. I was looking for the guy to get ZOT’d.
We were trying to work with him and the AM made our work harder.
That’s too bad. Might have turned into a decent poster.
Domitian sealed the fall of Rome by subdividing the empire. At the time the policy was greatly beneficial, but the end result was disastrous.

I don’t understand. You say it is in the Religion Forum, but the thread is classified as Bloggers/Personal. If it is Bloggers/Personal why are Religion Forum rules being used? If it is in the Religion Forum, why does it say Bloggers/Personal. If it has been moved to Bloggers/Personal, shouldn’t Religion Forum deletions be put back?
Im any case thios seems to be history and culture far more than Religious, whatever the intent of the OP.
‘A united Rome under Domitian and Constantine were able to provide a formidable resistance, but Constantine didn’t follow Domitian’s perfect succession rule’
I wouldn’t call the Tetrarchy perfect since it was not self enforcing and failed at the first succession. Otherwise a good summary of Romes’s decline EXCEPT that the Emperor Domitian was a tyrannical Emperor of the later first century AD. The Emperor who set up the Tetrarchy was Diocletian, who also set up the system used in the middle ages to bind folks to their employment and their parent’s employment, which led to serfdom.
Oops.
I meant to say:
I “wasn’t” looking for the guy to get ZOTd.
Dammit -- I keep mixing up Domitian and Diocletian (the Ds!). As a nerd I used to remember the dates and reigns of the Emperors until Septimus Severus to try to sleep! Now I think I can remember some reigns but should be able to remember the names
you are correct.
