This morning Israel came under a barrage of fifty Mortars fired in a massive attack from the Gaza Strip. Hamas proudly took full credit for this escalation. Apparently Hamas does not have any apprehensions about being speedily restocked and fully supplied with the tools used in the continued terror campaign against Israel. They are fully confident that the necessary armaments will flow freely from Egypt with the new management (read Muslim Brotherhood and fellow sympathizers) since the overthrow of Mubarak. I would hope that those in power and commanding the intelligence networks had figured this would be the case just as I and most anybody with half an ounce of common sense figured. The only logical conclusion to this now urgent and pressing problem is for Israel to take upon itself enforcing a complete embargo of the tools, materials, ammunition, guns, mortars, rockets, missiles, RPGs, etc that can be adapted for use against Israel and her citizens within range of Hamas weaponry.
For Israel to facilitate such control, it will be necessary for Israel once again to take control of the border area between Egypt and Gaza known as the Philadelphia Corridor. This will allow the IDF to inspect all people and vehicles entering Gaza from Egypt and complete the encirclement for inspection purposes. This will be necessary until Egypt has chosen a new government and they have shown a willingness and honest intent to prevent the arming of Hamas. Unfortunately, this is as unlikely to occur as is the instillation of a truly honest liberal democracy to govern Egypt. Israel will need to announce in the United Nations her intent to reestablish her presence in the Philadelphia Corridor for the sole purpose of inspecting and controlling the importation of materials that can be used for the manufacture of military weaponry, instillations, and armored positions. After making such a statement, Israel will need to act almost immediately not allowing for any preparations to oppose their operation. After the fact, Israel will need to develop a severe hearing disability for a few weeks until the world adjusts to the new facts on the ground. In no way should Israel accept the injection of third party troops or inspectors. If there is one thing the Jewish people should have learned by now, it is that only Jews will truly and under any conditions protect Jews. Israel will also need to be deaf to the squealing liberals from within her borders. No matter what, Israel must implement whatever it takes to secure weapons and military supplies from entering Gaza.

It is with a broken heart that I fear you won’t find help from our current Executive Branch.
