Nuke Pills Top $200 Per Pack On Auction Sites; Prices up 1900% in Just a Few Days
Author: Mac Slavo
March 16th, 2011
As the effects of the nuclear disaster in Japan remain unclear, panicked US residents are doing whatever they can to get their hands on Potassium Iodide pills.
Distributors of the FDA recommended pills have run out of stock, with one manufacturer reporting that they sold some 250,000 individual packets in a single weekend.
As we reported in What Your Grocery Store Will Look Like In An Emergency, at the onset of a far-from-equilibrium event, the essentials go first. In Japan, food and especially water have become scarce.
The panic is spreading, and residents in the US, fearing a fallout cloud crossing the pacific and affecting Western states, are stocking up as well.
The top priority? Potassium Iodide or nuke pills.
In recent days, the Surgeon General has advised concerned West Coast residents to get a hold of Potassium Iodide in the event of a radiation threat in the US.
The supply crunch and high demand has forced buyers to turn to the secondary market for acquiring the FDA recommended potassium iodide supplements, driving prices to upwards of $200 for a 14 dose packet. The suggested retail price offered by the supplier at NukePills.com is $10 per pack, indicating that demand has forced prices up as much as 1900% in just a few days.

Re-rread the article Fredd....the plume you speak of has not been determined to be real...rather what it might appear as and how it would travel.

Yep I believe a radiation of something that lasts decades and even centuries, would be miniscule don’t you?
I hope you don’t get cancer in the next 20-30 years...

Recall the Toyota issue, it was non stop lies then, why should it be any different now? With Obama this nuclear radiation threat is a non-issue, golfing and fund raising from the radical leftist Hollywood crowd & bankster corporate elite is paramount to him, which is more than reason enough for concern.

People need to read NY Times article more carefully...as follows...
gives NO INFORMATION ABOUT ACTUAL RADIATION LEVELS but only shows how a radioactive plume would PROBABLY move and disperse.

Should my money go to the drug companies, or should I keep it so it can eventually get confiscated by the dems? And do I really want to live in an environment where the dems are confiscating everyone’s money?

Video: Worst Nightmare -- Nuclear Meltdown As Fukushima Fuel Rods 'Fully Exposed' Japan's culture is making matters worse. All that formal bowing in public is only to save face. Seppuku or harakiri comes next: This nuclear fiasco will have major political fallout. The Prime Minister will be forced out of office in disgrace.
These old nuclear plants were obsolete ten years ago and required extensive retrofitting and rebuilding. Now chickens come home to roost and deposit broken eggs and smelly feces all over Japan.
But Obama is a facilitator. Zero was bowing to the wealthy cabal that controls Japanese politics. He did not send in experts to properly assess the obvious meltdown. Obama sent his minions to bow low, bend their knees and only listen. Zero's key people were spoon fed tons of bovine squat.
Now Zero must shoulder the blame. Blame Obama for everything that happens including what is about to happen to innocent people when radiation is blown by the wind and lands here.
Looks like Bozo Barry is forever tied to this Japanese nuclear fiasco. Check the headline:

Thats what I heard....red wine is just as protective I was hopeful, but no. Red wine will do nothing to protect your thyroid from radioactive iodide. The antioxidants in red wine do have anti-cancer qualities though. Must be good for you. Drink up!

People Don't Need To Take Potassium Iodide, Whatcom County Health Department SaysMajor suppliers of pills that provide protection from radiation say they're out of stock due to panic buying, even though experts say that the Japanese nuclear catastrophe poses no health threat to West Coast residents.
Those experts include Dr. Greg Stern, Whatcom County health officer, who said Wednesday, March 16, that people shouldn't be taking potassium iodide as a precaution against radiation poisoning.
That's because no significant radiation is expected to reach the West Coast from Japan, and the medicine can be harmful to some people, according to Stern.

I read it on NYTimes at a link on Drudge it was put out by the U.N. it does say
A United Nations forecast of the possible movement of THE radioactive plume (it doesn’t say possible plume) coming from crippled Japan reactors show it churning across the Pacific, and touching the Aluetian Islands on Thursday before hitting Southern California late Friday.
