This evening, Bill OReilly took a shot at Governor Palin on his show regarding the last interview he conducted with her. If you recall, the governor rightly put an end to OReillys annoying habit of interruption, by reminding him that he was indeed interrupting her. As you can imagine, Bills ego suffered a bit of a bruising from the governors action.
On tonights episode of The OReilly Factor, Bill spoke with Chis Wallace to make himself feel better about it all. He compared his behavior as a media personality, with that of Chris Wallace, stating that it is mandatory for serious journalists like themselves to constantly interrupt their guests. Im not sure how Wallace managed to allow himself to be used by OReilly in this manner considering that he is not the one with the horrible reputation of being a rude host. Not through persistent interruptions anyway No, Bill OReilly is the one with the bad reputation and he knows it. Obviously Governor Palin struck a nerve (and an over-sized ego) when she called him out last week, otherwise he wouldnt have done this segment tonight.
The funny thing is that if Bill actually paid any attention to the answers his guests give, he would have realized that Governor Palin DID answer his question. The shows transcript states:
OREILLY: Some people want mandatory retirement age where you would have to take it raised up to about 67. Are you for that? Do you want to raise that mandatory age to 67 retirement?
PALIN: Everything everything is going to have to change for those who are enrolled in the program now and will be enrolled in the program now. But we do not change the pension benefit
OREILLY: I agree. The people who
PALIN: of those who are receiving it now and that whats people care
OREILLY: brought in and the people who need it.
PALIN: And I really apologize that up here in Alaska we have the four second delay. So its its not an easy exchange.....to try to -- to try to get my point across to you if you interrupt. So I'm going to -- I'm going to continue this thought on reform of entitlement programs. What we need to do is allow some personal accounts with part of that Social Security tax for new enrollees. Allow them to keep more of what they're earning and invest it according to their priorities and not assume that government can plan our economy,
OREILLY: OK.
She said everything and the word everything, in this instance, encompasses the topic being discussed, as well as others things that were not mentioned. Yes, plus more, if you will. Most media personalities have to interrupt their guests at some point. However, Bill OReilly interrupts his guests every time they try to answer any of his questions. Its habitual and its annoying. Mark Levin also had a few choice words for the 8 PMer, after the show. Enjoy!
If he’d ever ‘hotseat’ Obama anything like he did to Palin he might regain some lost streetcred.
O’reilly is clown shoes.
I saw that episode and Bill was being a no it all ass as usual.
I’ve been pointing out same for years...it makes BOR unwatchable regardless of the guest. His ‘interviews’ are 90% BOR speeches - uninteresting and unoriginal ones at that.
o’pinhead ever on duty on the wall of vanity...
Scroll down on that link and listen to The Great One (Mark Levin) take BOR to task.
I’m right and your wrong-BOR
I did not see the episode. Did Palin give the details of her plan. I see that she says “everything has to change”. In about three years of speeches and facebook posts and tweets, I don’t think she has ever given a detailed position that can be critiqued.
Bill has issues...
then you haven’t been listening
You obviously didn’t even read the article? Sigh
Bill O’Reilly Pinhead or Patriot. Call in your results and the results will be displayed on tomorrow night show.
Pinhead - 99.9%
patriot - .1%
Maybe Bill needs to retire he is getting to old.
I mean the transcript which is right there at the link....
And he spends way too much time hawking his books and, for that matter, those of his guests like Dick Morris.
.
O’Reilly probably wears Romney Underoos to bed.
Why does anyone give this O’reilly clown any viewership, he’s nothing but a paid flak who juts his old, bony, spittle caked finger into the wind and then pronounces his “convictions” all in the guise of “”watching out for the “common” folk””.
I would call him a “has been” but he’s more of a “never was”.
Someone give this man his walking papers - he’s pretended to be conservative for far too long.
LOL...
