When the Transportation Security Agency began its intrusive new airport screening procedures last fall, I was sure Americans would rise up to the privacy violations and put an end to the program in short order.
I predicted it would happen by Thanksgiving. Later I revised my prediction to Christmas.
There was palpable anger expressed by Americans for two or three months. And then it subsided.
One more nail in the coffin of American liberties.
When was the last time you saw a news report about TSA abuses?
It's yesterday's story.
A new line in the sand has been drawn for those of us concerned about protecting our most personal freedoms.
Don't think for a moment TSA has backed down. In fact, the lack of response by Congress – including new House Republicans – to the concerns of the people has all but ensured the enhanced security screenings will not only continue but become more widespread and more invasive.
And that's just the beginning.
It has not escaped Washington's attention that the American people blinked – and moved on to other concerns, tacitly accepting the nonsensical screenings that actually don't make any of us any safer in the skies.
Now they know we will accept more infringements of our rights. So be ready for them.
Meanwhile, the horrors continue in the airports on a daily and hourly basis.
Here's the latest victimization I heard about from a woman who e-mailed me:
I recently had a horrifying experience of traveling by air from Las Vegas. Of course, this required that I go through the security lanes at the airport manned by the TSA.

Anyone keeping “grope logs”?
What Freedom. We are already living in a Socialist Police State compared to when I was a kid.
Going through long, obnoxious security checks, not being able to take water or food onboard, then being held captive on the tarmack for 3 hrs... before takeoff and after landing... is not my cup o’ tea. That was my one and only experience since 9/11 and I won’t do it again.
I don’t give a hoot about screening at airport. Strip us necked. That is a voluntary choice. I am concerned about taxes, spending and an illegal occupant of the presidency.
If generations of children are send to prison-like schools and herded about like packs of sheep and trained to respond immediately to the government bells and whistles, we **WILL**WILL**WILL** have a nation of compliant sheep!
It's possible because we have forgotten that in America the people are the masters and government the servant.
If generations of children are sent into government temples of GODLESS worship of the state, we ***WILL**WILL**WILL** have a nation of godless secular humanist citizens that look to government as their Redeemer and Savior.
possible because we are a nation in crisis, without moorings, without understanding, without discernment and without a sense of right and wrong.
If generations of citizens are sent to GODLESS government schools they will not grow up in fear of the Lord. They will lack discernment and believe that all morals and ethics are relative and defined by government.
Yes, well there seems to be an embargo of some sort on usually “conservative” news sites regarding the news that TSA planned to use covert screening on PEDESTRIANS. Apparently, this is unimportant because we are assured that this is not presently happening by ... you guessed it ... the TSA.
It'll be the last time.
Me neither. I've made my choice - a good car, XM radio, and I don't fly anymore. I can enjoy the food/beverages of my choice, and I am not defenseless.
I’ve not read anything on the subject covering exactly how our gub’mint seems to have reduced us to cattle or perhaps dogs - at dog shows the contestants are used to having strangers touch their junk but traveling Americans?
Make no mistake these procedures will be extended to all forms of travel bus, train, subway, auto?, etc.
And you know how they did it? Masterfully.
They started just before Thanksgiving 2010. Scan or grope - take your pick. Implemented months after the “crotch bomber” but just before Thanksgiving.
Lots of media play, predictions of huge delays, protests, plus some bad weather helped. But then whether out of fear of the reaction or by design they “deactivated” the scans AND the groping for the weekend.
So - the big disaster did not materialize, objectors are marginalized as kooks and now its OK for a complete stranger to fondle your junk. Amazing. We are doomed.
That’s all good and well, until they find a way to molest you on the road.
Maybe checkpoints at each state line? Get out the car, bend over and spread ‘em!
The Kooks are right.
Little by little? We’re losing them wholesale now days...
