Video in post of actual attack (mildly graphic). Posted by http://religiopoliticaltalk.com/
They never report on attacks against Christians. Look at Iraq.
In the few cases where they do report on it — Sudan and Kenya, specifically — they never identify the attackers as islamists or the victims as Christians.
It’s the prelude to the massacre.
There’s a reason they’re tearing down those walls... To leave them completely vulnerable and defenseless.
We know what islam is. We know how this ends for Egypt’s Christian minority. This is the beginning of that end.
Pray for the Copts.
I’ve seen the typical shoot in the air stuff, but not much of the general actually try to hit someone/something version.
On the video, there wasn’t much of what appeared to be actual aiming going on.
I also heard a lot more gunfire, than I saw so it was a little difficult to say what actually was going on.
#1 - I’m not clicking a link that says “Libertarian Republican.”
#2 - I don’t believe this headline, as you didn’t post any of the “story” and use another link which I also will not click.
Good question. There are no other news reports on this non-story either.
Agree.
I believe it's a monastery, not a church. It's on the other side of the wall the Egyptian military is demolishing... where the warning shots are being fired from, where the Copts are fleeing from.
I will defend Christians any time I can. I have no idea what this video actually depicts. One thing is for certain, it was not an attempt to massacre anyone.
With that much firepower there, it would have been impossible for anyone to avoid being killed, if the perps had actually wanted to hurt someone.
That wall was not positioned to be a barrier to protect that building. It ran from one wall down a dirt road. Tanks could have been driven down that roadway at any time, and taken out the building without even touching the wall.
As near as I can tell, there were not bullet holes in the building. If you were trying to kill someone, that would have been your first target.
I know the Copts are under a lot of stress right now. My sympathies go with them, but don’t game me with mis-labeled video.
Oh wait, I didn't mean it that way... Heh, heh, heh...
Take care.

Signs (and those t-shirts!) are everywhere. Some people choose to ignore them.
This can’t be, the liberal media told us these were nothing but freedom fighters wanting freedom and democracy so they could be just like the liberals in LA!
*rolls eyes*
We’ve been hearing stories of this for over a week now. Three monasteries last week (St. Bishoy-Wadi El-Natron, St. Macarios of Alexandria and the Monastery of Saint Paul) were all said to be attacked in a similar fashion, walls built during the revolution were demolished and according to reports, dozens have been injured and several killed (including two priests).
I agree, most of the gunfire seems to have been warning shots. I also agree that six wounded (in this particular instance) does not a massacre make. I don’t have any objection to making an honest attempt to clarify what we’re seeing. By the same token, if you think we’re being gamed here, I’d be interested to know who you think is gaming us and to what end.
It happens every winter: I put on a little extra salsa.
Heehee.
Thanks for your comments. Clearly, more information is needed.
In that region people are always trying to game the media.
Our enemies do it. Our friends sometimes do it. It seems to be the way that region gets sympathizers all worked up.
I don’t want to see one splinter type injury when it comes to Christians over there. If this is what it is reported to be, the intimidation factor alone bothers me a great deal.
When my own side tries to overstate their case, I still don’t like it.
Tell me what’s honestly going on, and I’ll see it for what it is. Lie to me, mislead me, try to game me, it’s going to hurt your credibility with me.
Yeah, like you’ve got a corner on that market. ;^)
I’ve put on a little extra salsa myself.
Thanks Gene.
Caution is fine, but your outright skepticism seems unwarranted. This isn't the only video of such an incident, and there have been numerous reports of this sort of activity since Mubarak's fall.
Here's one of several reports:
Military uses force against Egypts Coptic monasteries, wounding many
Judging from all the available evidence, I'm having a hard time understanding why the Copts aren't deserving of the benefit of the doubt here. Especially in light a what they're up against. We see what's happening to Christians in Iraq. The same fate surely awaits Coptic Christians in Egypt.
