An interesting coincidence...
Heres Rachel Maddow on Tuesday night with Jay Leno:
JAY LENO: How about what's going on in Wisconsin?...
RACHEL MADDOW: If you look at the last election cycle, of the top ten people donating money in that election, seven of them were giving to Republicans, those were all corporate interests and Right-wing PACs and stuff. Seven of the ten were all Right-wing, and the only three that weren't were unions. So, if Republicans can get rid of the unions, particularly these public sector unions, they can run the table in every election from here on out.
Now heres Shepard Smith interviewing Juan Williams Wednesday:
SHEPARD SMITH: Can you explain Wisconsin?...Have you looked at the list of the top ten donors to political campaigns, the top ten highest? Seven of those ten donate to Republicans. The other three that remain of those top ten, they all donate to Democrats and theyre all unions. Bust the unions, and its over.
Hmm, is Shep a Rachel Maddow fan? She cites some stats and draws a conclusion from them, and the next day Shep cites the same stats using similar language--and draws the same conclusion. Now if Rachel Maddows stats were general public knowledge this could be a coincidence. But after spotting Noel Sheppards analysis of her comments, we followed his lead and went to Open Secrets to see for ourselves. As Mr Sheppard noted the watchdog website contradicts Maddows claims. Neither the top ten overall donors nor the top ten individual donors lists shows seven of them leaning Republican. In fact, in both cases there were more Democrat-leaning donors in the top ten than Republicans!
So now we have not just similar language leading to the same conclusion, but also identical stats that may have been made up by Rachel Maddow...and repeated by Shep Smith the next day! A Shep-Maddow connection? We report, you decide.
For all the Shep fans!
SHEP must be a new White Hut enlistee to receive daily BS from the HMIC
I think Shep is FOX’s answer to Oprah, only without the freebies.
LOL! This week I was listening to him and his ignorance and/or deliberate misrepresentation of the FACTS was jaw-dropping.
As I was surfing last night I saw Ed Schultz give a BIG TIME shout-out to Shep for speaking truth to power on FOX...
Quit watching Shep years ago, he’s always been a leftie!
That would be a day that Shep's mascara would run like never before.
With all respect, you omitted the “F” from the “HMIC.”
I videotaped Shep and Williams in that exchange. Shep actually thinks his M.O. is not as a transparent Leftist.
“Bust the Unions and it’s over”... Well, yeah. So what’s the problem?
Now I don't often if ever agree with Rachel Maddow. But here she makes a good point.
If the Dems lose the taxpayer funded campaign contributions that are funneled to them through the public service unions they are headed for the bottom of the political heap. This country is conservative and without the unions there just isn't enough support for the Dems to keep them on top. They know they are fighting for their political life in Wisconsin and Ohio. But they are going to lose. Good.
I don’t think shep likes women.
No problem that I can see- it’s long overdue. Let the Dems try to start raising money without a cash cow.
They’re not both lesbians?
He doesn’t. That’s why he likes Ratchel.
Don't be silly ...
Shep doesn't like girls ...
Each day this week he’s been acting like a clever little sneak- assuming the average IQ of FOX viewers is around 32.
I don’t know if we can trust the polling that will be coming out on this issue- it’s complicated and requires more thought than our twitter world accomodates. Unless one understands the significance- it’s SOUNDS reasonable for the unions to be able to bargain, why after all it’s “just fairness”..
