Has Obozo put the family on a terror watch list yet? At this point anything the “man” does wouldn’t surprise me.

Who’s paying for this? If they’re paying then go for it, but I don’t see any reason to stick the US taxpayers with the bill.

US Doctors do a lot of “charity work” Our Children’s hospital always has 3rd world kids here for surgery why not a Canadian kid? My guess is his family can raise a lot of funds from individuals to help.

Where can we take American kids when the Obama care goes into effect?

As I understand it, the Detroit hospitals aren’t too bad. Canadian cash paying customers helps a lot.

As long as the family is able to write checks to an American hospital and to American doctors, I see no reason why he should not be transfered to the US.

They couldn't find any place else other than Detroit? Perhaps their personal finances have to do with it.

God Bless them and their baby. I hope this baby pulls through, no matter what the obstacles and proves them all wrong.

US hospitals MUST by law take anyone who walks in the ER. Then the costs for the ones that don't pay get spread to the ones who do pay. Is this what you mean by charity?

This individual is described as a Canadian, but on Megan Kelly’s program yesterday she interviewed “Moe.” (mohammad?) His Middle EAstern accent reveals he was not born in Canada. It looks to me like he is continuing his quest for a free ride, his child’s sad plight notwithstanding. sd. sd

The last name is Maraachli but I don’t they’re muslim. It seems pretty unlikely that a muslim would name his son Joseph.

Sorry I thought that would link to the facebook page

which has this information on it

Description

I don’t know if they are or are not Moslems. I merely referred to his midEast accent. I enclosed mohammed in parens accompanied by a question mark. While I agree that the name Joseph is unusual in a moslem family, I suppose it could happen. His unusual references to (his) God (using possissives) was quite out of the ordinary. just sayin’. sd

Detroit certainly wouldn't be my first choice, but if the family is from Windsor, Ontario, then it is probably a matter of convenience, since it is very close.

It might be just my misreading of it, but the headline on this article seems a bit misleading. The Maraachli family is not trying to save their son's life. This infant is dying of a degenerative neurological disorder. What they want is for doctors to give him a tracheotomy so that he can breathe on his own, and then they can remove him from the respirator and bring him home and let him die with his family, instead of in the hospital.

This is the second baby they have lost in this way. The last time, the hospital let her go home and she lived another six months. I don't understand why the hospital feels they can't just honour the parents' request. At the very least, a simple tracheotomy has got to be cheaper than lawyering up.

Maybe so. But the parents should be allowed to try to save their son, or let him die at home. Courts should allow the families to make these decisions whenever possible. I do think the Canadian system might and I say might, be a part of this problem.

They are not going to stick it to the US taxpayer. They would have to be able to fund it themselves. They are from Canada, not Mexico.
