[ She quit an oath of office. ]

What she did was.. pull the rug out from under a strong democrat (republican aided) machine.. that had her painted into a legal corner.. Hamstringing the governorship and personal finances..

So she put the Lt. Gov. in charge (made him governor) who got the State government working again.. and handled all the spurious ethics charges filed against her.. all of which were pure bull burgers..

She was brilliant in this political tactic except for one thing.. That is addressing idiotic statements like you made above.. Which are either ignorant of "this Story" or maleficent in its character sliming her like the original spurious ethics charges..

"She quit an oath of office."

Are you obtuse or just ill-informed? We've been over this so many times and I'm bone tired of it. Alaska's laws allowed people to file bogus ethics complaints against elected officials that they have to defend with their own resources and money, not the state's. She and her family were being bankrupted. But you probably already know that since it's been hashed over again & again here on FR and you joined way back in 1999. Don't like strong women? Rooting for someone else? Think she's a"RINO" for some obscure reason? Or what is it? And what would you do when faced with a mounting debt and lawyers fees in the millions?

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Alaska, and that I will faithfully discharge my duties as ... to the best of my ability.”

That’s Alaska’s oath of office for its officials. She honored it while she was in office and stepped down when people without honor decided to bankrupt her family and the taxpayers of Alaska with frivolous lawsuits. She faithfully discharged her final duty when she transferred her gubernatorial powers to a very competent lt. governor.

If you don’t know this by now, you haven’t been paying attention.

She quit an oath of office.

Very good call! Except she quit the office and she honored that oath by putting a most competent LtGov in charge. It was not my first choice of actions and I doubt it was hers either. Better one that honors her oath than what many in office at all levels do today who act in ways that suggest they consider the oath to be a joke or an inconvenience.

She quit an oath of office? That's a lie.

She took an oath to "faithfully execute her duties as Governor..."

When the frivolous lawsuits came in such a flurry that she was unable to both defend herself against them and conduct the State's business, she stepped aside to allow her Lieutenant Governor assume the reins and continue the State's business unencumbered by criminally insincere courtroom shennanigans.

Though the Craven Left, the lying Misledia Whores, and you, would try to paint this as some sort of evil, it was actually the most selfless, humble, and magnificent gesture any politicain has made in our lifetime.

As Jesus Himself said, "No greater love hath any man but that he would lay down his life for another."

Sarah forfeited her own political life as Governor for the good of the people of the State of Alaska. It might have been the end of her political carreer, but she was that selfless and had that much integrity that her own moral character demanded that she sacrifice herself for the good of her State.

That you would now besmirch and libel and ridicule that most generous and selfless act on her part says far more about you that you might wish. That in parroting this lie you align yourself with the Left and the Media Whores is equally telling.

Nice job. Well done. You enjoy looking at yourself in the mirror every day, scumbag. Be real proud.

So did Dole. Seems I don’t remember that being an issue in 1996.
