True adulation. Lugar and Obama absolutely adore each other. A love story for all to enjoy and remember. Reports out of Indiana are saying Richard Lugar will get a primary challenger on February 22. Finally, America is waking up. “People and nations are forged in the fires of adversity”-John Adams I pray that those standing up and fighting these liberals and rino’s have been hardened in the fires and are ready for the battle that lies ahead! This is why senators should never be President.

The RINO’s must really be laughing at us behind their closed doors at how we’re so easily fooled.

Probably some Illinois freepers could help out as well, since Indiana is only about an hour drive for most of us in the Chicago area.

Ironically, Lugar won by the highest percentage of any incumbent Republican in '06 (87%, the Dems didn't bother to run anyone against him...hmmm), and the 2nd highest was Olympia Snowe. Both need to go. There's a reason why they get so much "bipartisan" support to stay in Washington.

Many years ago, Senator Helms was chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee and Senator Lugar was the next ranking republican member. He and Senator Helms had a disagreement about scheduling a committee hearing on some issue and when Helms refused to call the meeting, Lugar, being just as arrogant (and disloyal) as he is now, joined with the Democrat members to force a hearing.

Senator Helms called the hearing 10 minutes before the Senate was scheduled to go into session, invoked the Chairman’s right to speak first and proceeded to lecture Lugar and the Democrats for 10 minutes. There is a Senate rule that prohibits a committee from meeting while the Senate is conducting business if any Senator objects to the meeting and Senator Helms made such objection. He promptly adjourned the hearing and got up and exited the room. No one else had an opportunity to speak. Lugar was left sitting with his mouth open, looking like a fool. He had been taken to the woodshed by the old master and didn’t even realize it until it was over.

It is a shame that the Senate no longer has members with the stature of Senator Helms but still has fools like Lugar.

I wish I could believe that. Lugar won’t go down easy.
