Lara Logan, chief foreign correspondent for CBS News, was beaten and raped in Cairo during a thirty minute assault by a frenzied throng of over 200 Egyptians. According to a report in today’s New York Post, Logan’s attackers were shrieking, “Jew! Jew!,” while they assaulted her. Moreover, the day before the assault, Logan informed Esquire.com that she and her crew were harassed by Egyptian soldiers who had accused them of “being Israeli spies.” The 39 year-old Logan—who is based in Washington, where she lives with her 2-year-old daughter, and husband—is not Jewish.
The horrific fate of Ms. Logan—as a woman in misogynistic Egypt she fared worse, and was raped—reminded me of a plaintive letter published in the Egyptian newspaper Akhir Sa’a during 1948 by a “light-skinned” Egyptian Muslim man.

I assume that “sexually assaulted” is the polite or ambiguous word for raped. No one really wants it publicly known that they were gang raped a hundred times or more. But I would assume that that is what happened.
Gang rape is a common Muslim way of expressing their “honor” as Muslims, or the superiority of Muslims over Infidels, by defiling innocent women—as we see from many stories in places like Denmark, Holland, Australia, and the U.K.
Thanks for posting that link. I understand that ‘sexual assault’ ca be interpreted differently in different jurisdictions, but I knew that I had read in more than one article that they were specifically reporting that she was not raped.

Sympathetic Moslems protests in the US can evolve in the same way, it can happen near a daycare, middle school or a Christian school for women.
Moslem protests must NOT happen, when it starts it should be immediately snuffed out, haul them off.

That's what I wondered too. This is the first time I've heard the term rape used to describe what happened to her. Not that being beaten, groped and possibly stripped by a mob isn't horrifying enough.

Let’s see, Lara Logan has been a war correspondent for years. She’s gone into many of the danger zones other reporters refuse to go.
I would think if she was groped and beat on a little she wouldn’t have gone to the hospital and flown home. She’s a tough girl and would probably continue covering the scene.
She was seperated from her group for more than a half hour, in the hands of goat-farking dirty nightshirt scumbag mooselimbs. What do you think happened? She was gang raped.
When a goat looks good to these stinkin 7th century savages, a blond, former swimsuit model must have been just the reward they were looking for. Dumb decision on CBS and Lara’s part but hindsight is 20/20.

It would seem that most people in Egypt are unaware of the fact that among Egyptian Muslims there are some who have white skin. Every time I board a tram I see people pointing at me saying, “Jew, Jew!” I have been beaten more than once because of this. Most of us don't realize that the Arabs and much of the population of Egypt were at the time of Mo the Molester as light skinned as the Greeks or Syrians of today. The dark tan complexion we associate with the word ‘Arab’ is a product of centuries of slave raiding and slave importation from Africa by those tolerant fellows from Arabia. We here in the US are constantly denounced for the ‘original sin’ of the existence of chattel slavery in the US from its foundation until 1865. The Arabs get a free pass for their near millennium and a half (they are still at it) of slave raiding and slave holding.
