Mayor Daley, Chicago Public School Officials Announce Expansion Of Arabic Language Program

Mayor Richard M. Daley and Chicago Public Schools officials today announced plans to expand the CPS Arabic language program using an $888,000 U.S. Department of Education grant.
Since its launch three years ago, the Arabic language program has grown to serve 2000 CPS students in 10 schools citywide.
The three-year Foreign Language Assistance Grant (FLAP) will fund expansion of the program to three additional schools, professional development for teachers and technology-based instruction using SAFARI-Blackboard technologies.
"Our vision is to give all of our students the kind of education that prepares them to compete in tomorrow's global workforce," Daley said at Durkin Park Elementary School, 8445 S. Kolin Av., where kindergarten through fifth-grade students are taught Arabic daily.
"We all know the economic future of our city depends on our willingness to seek opportunities in the Arab world, the Americas, Asia, Europe and around the globe," Daley added.
Daley noted that with this grant, the school system has received state, federal and other funds totaling $1.6 million for building Arabic language instruction.
Among the other grants CPS has received is the U.S. State Department's Startalk Arabic Summer Language Institute grant each of the last three years.
It provides funding to send 30 CPS high school students to the University of Chicago to study Arabic language and culture for four weeks during the summer break.
Students also take field trips to Chicago area businesses, cultural organizations and community resources, to apply the languages in real life.
CPS also invested $1 million in its Critical Languages Program in 2008 to help build up a K-12 pipeline of students studying Arabic, Chinese or Russian.
CPS officials said they had not yet selected which schools will get the expanded Critical Languages opportunities. The goal is to expand opportunities to schools that wish to grow their critical language options.

Daley said the key to building a strong and secure economic future for Chicago is providing every public school student with a quality education that allows them to fulfill their potential in life.
And additions to the curriculum such as the teaching of Arabic, Chinese and Russian recognize the need to better engage with other nations and businesses around the globe, he said.
"Without an educated workforce capable of filling the jobs of the global economy, Chicago won't succeed in this century," the Mayor said.
"We must remember that although we're in a recession now, it's our responsibility to position Chicago to reap the benefits of the better times to come," he said.
Daley launched the program in 2006 shortly after Rezko brought the Emir of Qutar to Chicago for dinner. The language program received state, federal and other funds totalling $1.6 million in 2009 alone.

I found this little blurb in my file though the link no longer works.
Let’s take advantage of this. Get a bunch of Israeli and Evangelical Christians to take the Arabic courses, so we can be fluent in this language and understand them better. We would’ve been better off before WW II if we had had more German and Japanese-speaking peoples.

STARTALK is the newest of the component programs of the National Security Language Initiative (NSLI) announced by former President Bush in January of 2006.
The initiative seeks to expand and improve the teaching and learning of strategically important world languages that are not now widely taught in the US.
Other programs under the NSLI umbrella include Title VI/Fulbright Hays programs of the US Department of Education,
The National Security Education program of the National Defense University, and study abroad and exchange programs of the US Department of State.

And we know it will encompass their history and culture - that is - the cleaned up and revisionist version.
It’s for the indoctrination of kids especially their religion -culture - happening mostly in Michigan. A good idea though because one could watch and learn from the videos.
PS: Let’s face it - it was basically all about pleasing the billionaires from - the ME.
Our kids can’t even read English yet they’re being taught how to read in Arabic. Hillary’s even talking about them learning Chinese as well.

Yes, that’s why I posted this - Daley started it in 2009 after he talked to an Emir from Qator. Lots of under the table money for all involved including Hillary. This is why we need to have our own oil fast.

I saw a video with a fox news anchor..dont know how old it was but it went on to tell of the events going on in MN with, as we have all heard, the Somali popoulation...cab drivers at the airport not taking passengers if they have a dog or liquor, and checkers at Target not touching a package of bacon so they get a different job rather than walking papers...and how MN is just giving in to the demands and that MN could become the first Sharia state..
It came to me that this is how the muzzies will take over America. It may take 100 years and they don’t care,,they are patient.. but it would be one state at a time..The so called Infadels would just get sick of this and move to another state and then MN or MI would just fall to the muzzies. Then the Muzzies would move on to the next state..until they all fall to it.
notice it’s not just language...it’s language and culture.
Does Daley know something we don’t ? Is it being offered because he thinks some day soon we’ll all be speaking Farsi ?

I sent this to Peter King(who is leading an investigation into radical Islam) and Pat Toomey with a note that this indicates serious problems in the Dept. of Education since a lot of Chicago students can't even speak English properly.
