Chris Barron, chairman of the board at GOProud, sent over a statement laying into Pawlenty calls for defunding the repeal of DADT.
GOProud is a conservative gay group that's under fire from anti-gay social conservatives because of their sponsorship of CPAC, the conservative conference being held in Washington, DC. Both GOProud and Tim Pawlenty will be at CPAC this weekend.
I understand that Pawlenty is trying hard to get people to pay attention to his campaign. Its certainly a challenge for someone with such little stature in the conservative movement to compete with high profile conservative leaders like Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Herman Cain, etc. Unfortunately for Pawlenty, comments like this simply show how totally out-of-touch he is with the issues that rank and file conservatives care about. If he wants to show he is a committed social conservative he would be much better served talking about the need to defund Planned Parenthood, end federal funding for abortion, reign in an out of control judiciary and support for a parents rigths amendment to protect home-schoolers.

You can't be an unrepentant homosexual and still call yourself a conservative. The plain and simple truth is that buggery is not a conservative value.
Bottom line is that DADT WORKS.
Do your job and keep your sexuality to yourself.

I think this “gay” involvement in CPAC is intended to destroy it more than anything else.

Oxymoron. There is no such thing as a gay conservative. The two are mutually exclusive, like "light darkness" or "Liberal Christian."

No such thing, yet the media continues to pretend. Just like with “gay marriage.”
There is no such thing as a "conservative gay group". Homosexuality being compelled to loudly announce itself hardly follows the line of conservative thought.
It's simply gay advocacy, a subject that falls far outside of conservative issues of concern.
The response to such groups should be to disregard them altogether and when they cry "we're gay!" simply state "That's your concern. I don't care.".
Unlike Pawlenty and Bachman,
Gov. Palin is not an OBAMA REPUBLICAN
who suports CPAC and their antiSemitism,
IslamoNaziphilia, support for illegal immigration
and the rest.
