WATCH: Christina Aguilera Screws Up The National Anthem At The Super Bowl

The biggest moment any singer can ask for: "The Star Spangled Banner" at the Super Bowl. And Christina Aguilera messed up the lyrics.

At about 51 seconds in, as she was about to sing the fourth line ("O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming"), she accidentally sang a hybrid of the second line: "What so proudly we watched, at the twilight's last streaming."

Like a professional, she seemed to know that she messed up, but kept going to the end. Check it out below.

I Knew It. I was ready to comment before the game started how I hated the "new and improved" Star Spangled Banner. Interesting to me..a lot more people seemed to have their hand over their heart during "America" rather the National Anthem.

Doesen’t matter! This is the Gay Bowl! The first singer stars in a gay TV show! Then, how did you like the male transsexual ad? Then there was the Doritos male finger-sucker, and the pants-sniffer ad! This is the first Gay Bowl! I hate to say it, but even the player in the first TD...William Gay? Coincidence?

Even w/o the mess up that was the worst version since Rosanne Barr, loved her getting hit by the log.

Go Pack

Christina... perhaps you should have used a teleprompter.

You beat me to it. Roseanne———

At least Christine didn’t scratch her crotch.

It should be against the law to yodel the Star Spangled Banner.

Singing our National Anthem should not be an occasion for some half azzed celebrity to try to show off their yodeling talent.

So, of course we can’t say the name of the Green Bay Team...P***ers......

Lord, I apologize... and be with the starving Pygmies down there in New Guinea. Amen.

"O'er the ramparts we watched"

Aguilera wouldn't know a rampart if her liposuctioned bottom was straddling one.

Not only HORRIBLE, but disrespectful too. I HATE it when these so-called “stars” decide OUR National Anthem is fair game for their interpretation and “artistic impression”. Sing the song the way it was meant to be sung, or DON’T SING IT. All those extra voice inflections, pauses, and drawn out notes inserted at her whim made a mockery of the Anthem. Just HORRIBLE.

Let’s just do away with national anthems for stupid athletic events, huh?

Find a singer that knows the words to the National Anthem and can sing it in a respectful tone the way it was meant to be sung.

Many of these so called musicians are tone deaf, have short memories and are talentless who lip sync their way through life and disappoint their fans, the few they have...

It’s the dimwits who run the NFL who are fault; more important to have some “big name” doing the anthem. Totally unimportant whether they actually have the talent to do it right.

I guess she is a real good singer; however, I don't like these jazzed up versions of our national anthem. I prefer to sing it straight.

People don't know there are three other stanzas our national anthem as I found out when I sang it at a campfire sing-a-long HERE

I missed a little in singing all four stanzas, but I think I got it without any real flubs.

Agreed. HORRIBLE. It's become a moment of entertainment instead of a moment of respect for our country. Do any entertainers know how to sing a note and sustain it any more? If they did, they wouldn't need to do all that zigzagging around the note.

I missed the flub because her first few lines of the anthem were so irritating I muted it.

I'm tired of all the "urban yodelers" (as Michael Savage calls them) they hire to sing out National Anthem. Can't they find someone who can just sing the damn song the way it's supposed to be sung without all the atmospheric wailing and yodeling?

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

That is pitiful!

They should have gotten someone respectable and who does a great job like Martina McBride.

Frankly, we should drop the “Star Spangled Banner” and use “God Bless America”... MUCH better thoughts, more easily sung and more apt to ps off the left.
