TSA To Unionize: UAW at Airport = Happy Endings
The Voice of Reason ^ | February 4, 2011 | Texas Peartree

The entire airport experience has been getting worse and worse. That is, until today's important announcement. Sure, the food in the terminals is still awful; honestly, how hard is it to make a fresh pretzel? And yes, the lines of people taking off their shoes at security makes for a fragrant occasion. Sure, you always get stuck behind the elderly, infirm or a family traveling with twenty toddlers. However, things are about to dramatically improve because the Transportation Security Administration is allowing their workers to unionize!

Don't let the fact that the TSA's John "Johnny Boy" Pistole released this information on a Friday before the Super Bowl convince you that the Administration is ashamed of their actions. Far from it. They know that this will make us safer. After all, having happy union members looking at our naked form on a computer screen, threatening to strike, or fondling our genitals when we refuse to get irradiated in their new contraptions, is part of a secure system.

Thinks of the efficiency you see at America's Post Offices, or New York City's municipal workers during the recent blizzard. Aren't these the happy faces of people whose number one job is to keep you safe and your dignity intact?

Next week, on my travels from Houston to New York, I look forward to being groped by a future Jimmy Hoffa or Richard Trumka. I will be safer knowing that the same kind of efficient worker who has made the American automotive sector the envy of the world is now making our skies safer. Thanks to President Acorn, soon I won't just be fondled by a mall cop, but by a United Auto Worker.

The Department of Homeland Security was created by an act of Congress. Speaker Boehner needs to step up and demand there be no changes to DHS of this type, outside the legislative process.

While I whole-heartedly agree with suggestions one and three, I'm not sure that getting rid of ICE, Coast Guard, and CBP would do much to improve things.

Every unionized govt job is another Democratic voter.

No keep the Coast Guard and expand ICE. They should be separated.

I don’t want a “Happy Ending” from a UAW worker on the snatch and grab search line...

But leave designated border crossings (ports, airports, land borders) open to whomever might like to cross?

Personally, I don't have a lot of trust for foreigners, but perhaps you see it differently?

Actually, now that I think about it, you want to dump Border Patrol too? Leave the borders wide open?

Gotta tell you, that’s a terrible idea.
