-and see if you're any better than the average idiot!

This is a terrific test, albeit a couple months dated... very enlightening. But not in a good way... the pitiful results betray the fact that a solid majority of Americans have absolutely no idea what's going on in this country.
80% of the voting public doesn't have a clue-
and got less than half right!
This goes some ways towards explaining how a shady post-turtle like Barack Obama found his way into the Oval Office- and how the public can continue to be so easily manipulated by the thoroughly-discredited MSM hacks that endeavor to prop him up.
And there are no trick questions here - just a very simple test to see if you are current on your information. It's only a dozen questions... but NO Googling during the test, kids~

I just took it and got two wrong, I'll admit... but that's still good-enough to put me in the 94%tile, what does that tell you about the American voter today...

I missed the one about the three branches of government. I put “Congress, the Senate, and the President.” ;o)

Huh? Interesting test. I missed the one about TRAP. I though I just read that less than half of the money had been paid back, guess I was wrong (otherwise I would have gotten them all correct).

I missed #12, as I have no idea what Google’s search platform is.

I did the quiz, and it reported two of my answers wrong. I said that "less than half of the TARP was repaid", and the results page showed that I had answered "more than half" which is the wrong answer.
It also showed that I had checked "national defense" as the biggest expense in the fed budget, which is also wrong.
I paged back through the quiz and checked my clicks, just to verify that I hadn't checked those particular radio buttons, and my answers still showed as I had made them. They just didn't come through to the results page.
My answer on TARP was a guess, but the rest of them were not.

"Got 11. Missed the TARP money paid back question." Exactly the same here. I thought it was "less than half."

To be fair, medicaid and medicare were about 20% of the budget, while defense was 23%. Social Security was 20% and tarp was 4%.
So SS + Medicare and caid = 43% of our 2009 budget. Defense is getting cut (a foolish move) to counter the exponential growth in SS, medicare and medicaid. I suspect that the question was politically motivated and the answer won’t be updated next year when the correct answer will be SS +. If they insist on keeping the Great Society programs separated, then we should split defense into Army, Navy, Air Force and other.

That’s very odd - the same thing happened to me, same questions. Otherwise, I would have had 12 for 12, even if a couple of them were only educated guesses.
