Olga Zanella , 20, grew up in Irving, attending school in Irving ISD as a child. But she hid a secret--she is an illegal immigrant from Mexico. According to WFAA, she found out she was in the country illegally during her junior year of high school, after attending a college financial aid workshop.
She now faces deportation Monday because her status was discovered by Irving police during a traffic stop.
Her story reflects the story of many children who are now growing up in the city, and could face similar fates.
"I feel fear," she told WFAA. "It's going to be hard for me to adapt. It's a different atmosphere."

The 20-year-old undocumented immigrant has been in deportation proceedings since a traffic stop in
Irving two years ago. She was released, but has reported to ICE every few months. In December, she found out her appeal to stay in the United States was denied.

Ah! So your semantic game-playing fallsaway and you’re unmasked for what you are: an illegal alien apologist.
>> For you, that girl should be kicked out of the only country she has ever known
Damn straight. Not just her; her parents too. And all the rest of the economy-wrecking pests. OUT!
>> and in which she has done nothing wrong.
Not true. She’s illegally in this country. That is WRONG. It’s a crime, in fact.
Anyway, only an idiot would believe she hasn’t known for YEARS that she is in this country illegally.
I bet she never speaks to them again..
She is set for deportation Monday after her appeals were denied. She failed to meet a deportation hearing and that probably sealed her fate even though there were some circumstances she didn’t control.
The following article indicates she is still protecting her parents so they can remain in the states with her younger sister althought not stated may well have been born in the US. She doesn’t seem to blame them.

She has her parents. The fact her parent are in hiding tells much about their "love" for their daughter.
That is a key point here.
The way the media portray this, the poor little girl will be sent away on her own to fend for herself in a foreign land.
Hogwash.
She has her parents with her, and if they were loving parents a) they never would have put her in this position in the first place, and b) when faced with being caught, they would stand up alongside her and go with her.
Besides, mexican families are huge, so, this poor little girl has known all these years of her relatives in mexico and would not be alone, and besides, she was probably told many times over many years WHY she and her parents could not go to mexico to visit family. . . . . . .because they would have to cross illegally back into the states.
The poor little girl is lying.
The parents are cowards.
Deport them all.
“She now faces deportation Monday”
Why wait until Monday?
Isn’t the road south open today?
LOL
The poor little girl is lying.
I wonder, growing up, how she knew she was commiting a crime.
I was being sarcastic.
Hmmm, immigration status discovered during a traffic stop. Could it be that Miss Sob-Story was driving without a license and/or insurance? Just a poor innocent victim brought here as a child, huh? Doesn’t seem to have a lot of respect for the laws of the land she grew up in. If she’s not interested in respecting our laws, why should we bend them to let her stay here?
Read my post and there is your answer.
Or do you think she grew up never asking about cousins, aunts, uncles, grandma and grandpa. . .and why she can’t go visit them.
This is obvious.
I'd bet good money that traffic stop which uncovered her immigration status found her driving without a license and/or insurance. So, it's not like she "has done nothing wrong." She's continuing the same attitude her parents had when they brought her here illegally of flaunting the rule of law in this country. How many laws are you willing to let her break before you stop seeing her as a victim and start seeing her as the lawbreaker she is?
Fixed it.
Let’s start passing the hat for however many bus tickets we need to buy to send them back.
I'll tread very carefully here since out of respect to your tenure here on FR, your born on date trumps mine since I'm merely a n00b (in spite of just being short of 70 in real life).
With that caveat out of the way, sympathy has nothing to do with it. The Constitution and law are what matters when a situation is evaluated. An activist Supreme Court, in many cases drawing upon mere sympathy, has overturned proper laws and created "rights" out of thin air.
This woman and her family are criminals who have disobeyed a fundamental principle of our Republic. I don't care one iota about her looks, her religion, her politics (which are doubtlessly liberal), her job skills, her work ethic or any other traits. In the eyes of the law, she's a law breaker and must be punished.
Driving without insurance, oh the horror.
If I felt the Constitution was the final word on all issues, I would agree with you.
Having been hit by a drunk (or possibly doped-up) Mexican without insurance back in 1997 and having my car totaled, I can tell you explicitly of those "horrors" in details.
Klingonish, guilty
