Look, I met him in 1980 in Hawaii, 3 months after coming back from Mombassa, and the guy I met told me he was born in Mombassa, raised in Indonesia, was living in Hawaii with people who were not his parents, and called the older black gentleman who was working at the time, POPS.
I remember the smile, the ears, and I remember going back to the barracks to get my friends photo albums to go back to Waikiki to show him his nation of birth, his city of birth. They all refused to go, so, I never went back.
but I KNOW what I heard and why I remember it.
Obama clearly told me he was born in Mombassa.
There is NO ONE ELSE in Hawaii at the time who could have said that honestly.

Barack Obama Sighting, Hawaii 1980

There was a lot of activity in Kenya prior to Independence..the Mau Mau uprising..English settlers departing the country..travel restrictions..cannot see Dunham going there..to Mombasa.
If Obama was born in Kenya..Dunham cannot be the mother. It is possible...there was a mixed race baby..and the parent or parents were worried what would happen with the child after England departed. Obama Sr. could have brought the baby out on a ship and presented the child to Ann in Hawaii.
RB, can you take a look at some photos and these interview clips and say whether POPS you saw back in 1980 was this guy, Frank Marshall Davis?
Frank Marshall Davis Interview
Interview with notable African-American poet and journalist Frank Marshall Davis. Frank is mentioned in Barak Obamas “Dreams From My Father”, as a drinking buddy of his grandfather and an African American that made an impression on the now President as a young man growing up in Hawaii. The Film & Media Archive partnered with the Center for Labor Education and Research (CLEAR) at the University of Hawaii West Oahu to preserve the interview.

he does look similar, but the older black guy was standing with his back to me most of the time. I spke to the one I believe is Obama almost exclusively.
I remember the older guy was dressed like a short order cook, so if anyone can prove Davis worked at soem deli or ice cream parlor in Honolulu in 1980, that might be him and Obama was just visiting

We all need much more info on FMD
HE raised our president almost exclusively for 9 years
9 years of drugs, dope, red light bar drinking, CPUSA indoctrination ...
Short order cook?
Restaurant ?
This might be old news to some but I found it interesting.
Frank Marshall Davis looking like a short order cook?
Well according to the link below Davis (along with Barry) sold marijuana and cocaine from a Chicago style hot dog cart.
The source made a purchase in 1975 while Barry was 14 or 15 years old. In 1980 that would make Obama either 19 or 20 years old. I wonder if Davis still had the hot dog cart in 1980? That would explain the short order cook look.
Obamas Communist Childhood Mentor a Sex-Pervert AND a Drug Dealer?
Kuhio Avenue in Waikiki
The late Marxist activist Frank Marshall Davis, frequently accompanied by young Barack Obama and his grandfather Stanley Armour Dunham, sold marijuana and cocaine from a Chicago style hot dog cart Davis operated near his home on Kuhio Avenue in Waikiki in the early 1970s, WND has established.
Smith Street
Both Walden and the WND source on Davis drug-selling both affirmed that the bar involved was one of several then located in the largely black red-light district on Smith Street, at that time located near Honolulus Chinatown.
The source said that on more than a dozen occasions he purchased 8-balls consisting of approximately 3.6 grams of cocaine from Davis at the hot dog stand when Obama was present.
SNIP
Obama was a young kid, about 14 or 15 years old, the source told WND. I was told his name was Barry, and there was no doubt Barry knew Davis was selling marijuana and cocaine as well as hot dogs from the stand.
I bought cocaine from Davis at the hot dog stand, the source said. The first purchase I made was in 1975. In total, I bought 14 purchases of cocaine from Davis. I bought what Davis called an 8-ball that consisted of about 3.6 grams of cocaine. An 8-ball cost $300.
Ping to my post #52.
Also, I don’t mean to imply that your contact with Barry & Davis was related to anything illegal that they were doing.
I believe your story. Seems like a very credible sighting.
While I am wholly unfamiliar with the area, those streets listed above are only a couple of miles apart according to Mapquest. I’m sure Barry and Davis haunted the area.
When a short story of his whole stay in Hawaii was re-posted here, he filled in some details, but Race has been extremely reticent at repeating this memory as he knows it is just an accidental meeting with no way to back it up.

Great find SmokeyBlue!!! I see you addressed Race Bannon already...
The reason that Race never even made an issue of this on FR in the last few years is the lack of concrete evidence and corroboration. He knew it was just an accidental happenstance that had stuck in his head due to the guys odd background.

I wouldn’t expect Race to go on national tv and claim Barry was a drug dealer. Perhaps Race’s recollection can jog the memory of others that were around the area during that period to provide additional corrobration and potentially more details.
One thing is for sure, Race said that Barry called the elederly black man in the apron POPS.
Let Soetoro try to run again in 2012. More information about his true background will come out and many people will be shocked to find out who they really voted for in this guy.
Due to the breakdown of marriage, proper immigration, and the family structure in general over the last fifty years, we now have two generations that think questions of parentage are equivalent to judging people by skin color.
To them it is like saying, “did this ‘boy’ pay his poll tax?” at the precinct in Selma.
This is why the distinction of Natural Born is lost to much of the general public. They think of it as an historical oddity like old laws on inter-racial marriage. They never had anyone explain why it was in there in the first place and they think such explanations now are too convienient for the opponents of “the first black President”
Kalekaua intersects with Alamoana
I got the streets mixed up 30 years aago, too, it was the street that runs parallel with the waterline that I turned off of, I always called that Kalekaua!
it used to be two way, now, as of 99, it is one way, runs east
actually, it stuck in my head because I had just been to Mombassa 3 months previously, and viola! I met soemone who told me he was born there!
That surprisedme a lot!
