Perhaps anticipating that the media would begin ripping Sarah Palins interview with Sean Hannity earlier tonight underestimated the speed of the news cycle. Less than an hour later and a network away, Palins fellow conservative David Frum responded to her comments with a good-natured plea for her to just stop talking now. On MSNBCs The Last Word, Lawrence ODonnell noted that he would have wanted to hear Palin explain the difficulty of finding an appropriate timing to respond to the attacks on her, introducing the review of her performance on Hannity without deeply analyzing any particular part of it. Frum didnt explain what he would have wanted to see, but he made it clear that, whatever it was, it was not yet another media appearance about the same topic.
She should stop talking now, he put it, rather curtly, though the extended explanation of why seemed more favorable to her than this may indicate. His argument appeared not to be that she was incapable of speaking eloquently (though that implication was certainly present throughout this discussion), but that meta-responding to a response she already gave the video statement she released days after the massacre would only dig her deeper into her current political hole. There is no one left in America that would blame her for Tucson, he argued, and so the defense seemed far too vocal.
What should have happened was that one video released should have been the end of it, he suggested instead, noting that this last interview was a result of Palin being all too aware of the attacks on her and, as such, very shaken. Even though that first video was a disaster and failure, according to Frum, you have to live with the consequences and just cease.
The Huffington Posts Howard Fineman, who was also on the panel, agreed with Frum that her answers didnt add up or make sense and that she appeared rattled. Moreover, Fineman argued that her interview answers did little to assuage the average American viewer, and even though she was only talking to her own core supporters, her answers were barely enough to calm them down, either.

That has to be the funniest sentence I've seen in awhile. And why is it that the homosexuals (but I'm not saying these three gentlemen are queer, of course) hate Sarah Palin so much?
Frum and O’Donnell...Just two more of the Journolister Fifth Columnist Gang Rapists....Telling their victim to “Shut Up!”.
Of course FRUM wants her to ‘stop talking now’. Frum would want her to be silent forever. “Now” is just as convenient as any other moment, so...why not?
Palin should just keep on doing what she’s doing. Taking on the media on a Facebook page, in a short video. And they immediately lash out.
She has SO got their number, and they just cannot break free.
Frum bores me
“And why is it that the homosexuals (but I’m not saying these three gentlemen are queer, of course) hate Sarah Palin so much?”
I guess it is their nature to hate a REAL and successful
woman.
They can be women only in their minds, and sorry ones at that.
I wonder if they could be more condescending?
Her answers didn’t make sense? Sure they did, it was her best interview that I’ve seen but nice try Frum. The usual, shallow talking points. That’s all her critics really have imo.
Just what are these horrific crimes that she has committed? I’d like to know. Is Rinocide a word?
*ping*
The media, regardless of the specific outlet, is the primary enemy at this point in time. Replace them and reorganize the institute or the status quo will never change.
CNN says 35% blame her. Guess Frum should stop talking now.
David Frum hates anyone who is more conservative than Hillary Clinton.
Excellent analogy.
Sour grapes from the has-been/never-was RINO d-bag.
I think criticism of fellow conservatives is appropriate from time to time, but when you spend more of your time attacking conservatives than liberals, as Frum does, it’s time to question your own leanings/intelligence.
not all homosexuals hate her
not all homosexuals hate her
Put some ice on it. There it a heck of a list of Palin and Tea Party haters. Fox Msnbc Cnn abcbnbccbs\ We shall over come.
I’m one of those folks who doubts Palin will ever advance in national elective politics, yet I hope she stays in the game, not as a candidate but as a fire-starter and as a campaign fund raiser.
I think that her video statement last week was masterful - primarily in the timing. She waited while Krugman, et. al. insisted that she address the shooting, and she waited and waited and waited, until they had all run to the end of their chains. And then she dropped a very large bomb on them by refusing to be apologetic, and vigorously defending her right to be critical in opposition to Obama and the Democratic Party.
When it turns out that she is not the GOP nominee in 2012, the left will have spent its ammunition on her and it will be beneficial to whomever is the nominee.
David Frum? What is David Frum but the NYT definition of a conservative?
Im one of those folks who is voting for Sarah Palin for president of the USA in 2012.......even if I have to write her name in.
She’s making too much sense....people must be listening....the more she talks the better.....Frumboy....you are transparent.
