I’m one of those folks who doubts Palin will ever advance in national elective politics, yet I hope she stays in the game, not as a candidate but as a fire-starter and as a campaign fund raiser.
I think that her video statement last week was masterful - primarily in the timing. She waited while Krugman, et. al. insisted that she address the shooting, and she waited and waited and waited, until they had all run to the end of their chains. And then she dropped a very large bomb on them by refusing to be apologetic, and vigorously defending her right to be critical in opposition to Obama and the Democratic Party.
When it turns out that she is not the GOP nominee in 2012, the left will have spent its ammunition on her and it will be beneficial to whomever is the nominee.
