Like Rahm Emanuel, who didn't to waste a crisis, Frank Rich doesn't want to let a murderous rampage pass without trying to wring political advantage from it. By now, even most ardent liberals have had to admit that there was no nexus between conservatives and the manifestly psychotic AZ shooter. But there was Rich, in his New York Times column of this morning, still bitterly clinging to the accusation.
To be sure, Rich recited some disclaimers that by now have become standard. But by unlucky paragraph 13, Rich could restrain himself no more. Fulminated Frank: "Much of last weeks televised bloviation was dishonest, dedicated to the pious, feel-good sentiment that both sides are equally culpable for the rage of the past two years." This is a "false equivalency," he sputtered.
Two paras later, out popped what amounted to a flat-out accusation. After claiming there exists "antigovernment radicalism as rabid on the right now as it was on the left in the late 1960s," Rich argued:
"That Loughner was likely insane, with no coherent ideological agenda, does not mean that a climate of antigovernment hysteria has no effect on him or other crazed loners out there."
Translation: yeah, Loughner was crazy, but conservatives are still to blame.

Hey Frank, you dumb as a bag of rocks, Rich I’ve got two words for you. Eric Fuller.
We expect nothing better from Rich but to have the formerly trusted people on Fox continuing to attack Sarah for daring to defend herself is beyond the pale.
Both accurate and factual.
That flaming homosexual has absolutely no clue.
Even if we stipulate that the right’s alleged incendiary rhetoric caused this nutbag to go shoot up the Safeway store and Congress critter Giffords.
One next asks, why would such language be necessary if the left were not forcing their agenda on an unwilling populace against their expressed wishes? THe point is that the left is wrong on the issues and cares not for the desire of the populace, only themselves. They desire a NEW WORLD ORDER where they are in charge, their new order is not based on the consent of the governed.
Therein is the problem, they will not give in to the consent of the governed as they think they are better, smarter, more worldly, more cosmopolitan, tolerant, inclusive, etc. etc.
Frankie! Set the bong down and step away.
Dem, Progressive, and libtard ranks are utterly filled with delusional, blathering idiots. =.=
What I most struck me was his SEG.
Loughner's grin reminded me of the dude on the right. If you don't recognize him, I'll give you a hint: he's wearing his target's 1972 presidential campaign button. They let him out in 2007, after 35 years in the can, his 53-year sentence reduced for good behavior. Like Loughner, he failed to kill his target. Unlike Loughner, he didn't kill anyone else.
Yeah, it’s pretty bad when the stock of your newspaper is worth less than the daily price of the rag itself, as it was recently with The Slimes. Honestly, the way they talk about ‘’The Grey Lady’’. It’s sickening. The NYT isn’t worth a damn! Unless you’re toilet training a puppy. Then you can’t beat the Sunday edition. 8 pds. of newspaper is great for that.
This sounds very similar to Dan Rather’s reluctant and partial walk-back when it became clear that the Bush National Guard story that he aired was a total hoax.
And, it was clear that Rather launched that fabricated story and outright lie about 6 days before a national Presidential election in an attempt to throw the election. He deserved more than just being fired by CBS.
OMG!
DailyKos got Giffords shot! OMG!
/left-wing uninformed knee-jerk response impression.
Uh-huh. Sound like anybody you know, Frank?
Maybe somebody who writes for the New York Times and has a name that rhymes with Rank Frich?
