Whoops, I mixed up Ayers and Alinsky. Ayers’s dedication included Sirhan Sirhan. Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals was dedicated to Lucifer.
Very good example. No wonder Ayers praised Che so effusively in his book Prairie Fire.
Thanks for the reply. I kind of figured that since it was a short story but you can’t blame a girl for trying. ;) Guess I’ll just have to buy your books!
You can read major portions of my books online to see if you’d enjoy them first.
” But how many other clever, evil men are their like Ayers, who could take up the hobby of revving up and aiming lost souls? Professor Raoul X is clearly the devil or one of his minions, whether he knows it or not. “
Remember the photograph of George Soros hiding behind the bottom of the staircase of a NYC duplex, while his “useful idiot” Obama is making a speech to a bunch of spoiled brat Manhattanites?
Inquiring mind wants to know: if Ben Rafferty = Rush Limbaugh (fictionwise), who are the other two comparable of Professor Rauol's top three so-called right wing radio hosts? Levin, Savage?
No, he said Rafferty while well known, WASN’T one of the top three. So certainly not Limbaugh, and I would assume the other two top three spots go to Hannity and Savage, but I’m not really sure. Maybe Glenn Beck. Travis may have just made up a completely prototypical character, too, rather than it being inspired by a specific individual.
I think the top three would be Rush, Sean and Glenn, on radio. But that could change.
This way, without naming names, the fiction won’t date itself.
I didn’t really have a “#4” in mind. He could be one of a dozen reginoal favorites or Rush fill-ins. Mainly I don’t want to “date” the piece with a real-life name.
That was kind of my guess. Generic conservative host, possibly regional, not modeled after anyone in particular. It was something you were dashing off in a day, after all. No point it thinking too deeply into it unless you were writing a much longer story.
“Parallax View” describes the making, not of an assassin, but of a patsy. Great flick if you’ve never seen it.
Oh yeah, I’ve seen it. Correct about the patsy, but I meant the overall thrust was finding weak and easily controlled suckers in the furterence of covert political assasination. In that case, to be the fall guy, not the shooter.
Thanks, Matt....
tis a good start for a new project Sir...
Trav,
1. Thank you for sharing. We’re intrigued.
2. I zeroed in on your new ad in my just-arrived Guns magazine on page 97 - I hope that brings some new customers in (you deserve them!)
3. For your FReepmail.
Again, thanks.
Kit
I have a few other projects in line ahead of Raoul X.
Glad you found the ad! They’re not cheap.
Well done.
