Fluorescent and compact fluorescent bulbs can reduce intelligence, impair mood, and otherwise damage your life by releasing mercury, a highly neurotoxic chemical. Why, then, did congressional dimbulbs vote to ban incandescent light bulbs, forcing us to substitute fluorescent ones?

Dr. Pezzi provided a good explanation of what mercury does to the mind. His discussion of what mercury did to Michael Faraday, one of the most brilliant and productive scientists in history, was particularly fascinating. If it can destroy the mind of such a scientific genius, it can affect the brainpower of anyone.

I wish people would quit over-using ‘sheeple’. It lost all impact a decade ago and just looks cultish.

LOL, have you read the author's bio...
..He wrote several books and developed numerous web sites, the most recent of which give Internet users free ways to date online, develop better online profiles, combat spam, track information they want to follow, create keyword lists by dragging and dropping, and balance braces, parentheses, brackets, and tags in their computer code...
LOL, this 'MD' seems to teach internet spamming.. I'm surprised I don't see any books there on 'Direct Marketing' job opportunities (ie MLM).

The amount of mercury in these lights is nothing compared to the hundreds of tons that were used in dental fillings for generations.

In broadest terms politicians know as much about real issues as actors do, in fact they are actors and both equally are whores for money who have no principles.

This is as much CRAP SCIENCE as Global Warming yet because it seems to fit “our” agenda to jump on the anti-CFL bandwagon some are willing to forgo common sense and doing their own unbiased objective evaluation of the facts.
This author rails against the evils of mercury without once pointing out that the amount of mercury in a CFL is about 5 milligrams - an amount equal to the size of the period at the end of this sentence.
And if you don’t break it, not one atom of that evil nasty mercury ever comes into your house.
I love Mark Steyn’s term “yogurt-coated curly fries” and don’t like the Gummint mandating which lighting technology we should have the right to choose But I like and use CFLs and fluorescent tubes for their merits and use common sense when handling them.
I also hate “sheeple” but sticking with it for this post - is a person any less of a “sheeple” for blindly following these Mercury Crap-Scientists?

True. I actually like them for some things but disagree with any mandates either way. I have some that do fine outside in the Michigan winter despite taking 30 seconds to reach full intensity.
When you could get them American made the quality was far superior to the chinese made crap that they sell today. The American made CFLs also put out a better quality of yellow white light.
