Former Huffington Post CEO and CBSNews.com General Manager Betsy Morgan has been named president of Glenn Becks Web venture, The Blaze.
Morgan, who spent 10 years at CBS News before jumping to HuffPo, departing there in June of 2009, will now be tasked with growing the news and information site geared toward Becks radio and TV community. Mercury Radio Arts, Becks company, also announced tonight that former Premiere Radio Networks President Kraig Kitchin will join The Blaze as director of sales. Scott Baker, who joined The Blaze from Breitbart.tv as Managing Editor, has been promoted to Editor-in-Chief.
The Blaze is very fortunate to welcome Betsy and Kraig to the team, said Beck in a statement. Betsy has proven herself to be a successful media executive and leader in the digital media space, and her unique perspective and experiences will be valuable in building The Blaze as a vibrant, impactful community.
The Blaze is a curated mix of stories from politics, to news of the day, to offbeat stories and media criticism, from a conservative point of view. The site, launched in August, boasts about 3 million unique visitors a month.

Kind of like putting the wolf in the hen house, Glenn.
What in the world are you thinking?
No one but honest to good Americans want real conservatives.
Among those in the crowd was Betsy Morgan, the former CEO of Huffington Post, who described Saujani as a "change agent" and a candidate who will be a "breath of fresh air."
I'll leave it to the rest of you to figure out .. who these people are and .. Whether or not: Glenn Beck Has Jumped The Shark!
You are hiring someone who will serve as President of your company and you would be happy with someone who views the position as, "It is a job"?
Puhleeese!
Agree!
I wish, some conservatives would put up a right wing version of huffpost, its not a high bar to beat....
makes no sense at all
Many people take jobs and view them as just that...jobs. There are “jobs”, and then there are “good jobs.” I suspect this job falls into the latter category.
I don’t know how much input and influence she will have on the content of the site. But, I do know she will be responsible for the “bottom line”. Her job is dependent on the “bottom line”. If all of a sudden...or even over a period of time...the content on Glenn’s site starts skewing left and visits to his site start to fall off, then it’s just a matter of time before there will be someone else filling that position.
Don’t be surprised that people in the media business see their jobs as just, well, business.

The appointment of Ms. Morgan to The Blaze (which Mr. Beck named after the biblical story of Moses and the burning bush) raised some eyebrows at The Huffington Post because of her shift to a polar opposite political point of view. But she said in an interview, I am a very apolitical person. Im a business person, who is absolutely fascinated by brands.
The aim of The Blaze, Ms. Morgan said, is to broaden beyond politically based information to cover other topics of interest to Mr. Beck, whom she called a widely-known conversationalist on a lot of topics.
She acknowledged that some of his views had been seen as incendiary and had led to some difficulty in selling to national advertisers. But she said, Glenn has built for himself quite an enormous brand and the purpose of The Blaze is to leverage the huge loyalty of that audience.
Glenn is turning into Art Bell.
Time for me to move on. Other than Bret Baier there is not much to see on FNC.
Beck is finished. He is a libtard in sheeps clothing. I thought he was going blind or was that one of his stunts to get viewership and in turn getting people to feel sorry for him. He is a typical “me, me, Me” person.
And that is one of the reasons why I love FR. It is user friendly for us dial up users.
I would enjoy Obama not being president more.
Isn't Beck's hire a little like bringing in Lizzie Borden to keep the cutlery shiny?
Lucrezia Borgia as a pastry chef?
It’s obvious Beck is an entertainer, a media personality. He is in the business of making money. Liberal talk radio has been a failure. So, if you want to make $$$, you must espouse conservative viewpoints, whether or not you actually believe them.
I don’t think GB is a libtard. And I have no problem believing his macular dystrophy is real. I DO have a problem with his trend toward self promotion. Last night he was patting himself on the back for bringing a young boy to NY for an ear operation. Christians don’t trumpet these things-they just do them and shut up about it. That was especially disturbing to me.
Beck’s big problem is that he doesn’t comment on the daily news. He has a message, which is informative and riveting, for a while, but then it gets old. Rush’s monologue covers what happened today. Rush’s problem is that he sometimes goes too long on the same news item. But there is always fresh news to comment on.
