Even as governor, Abercrombie can’t release those records unless 0bama okays it. This is either some kind of head fake distraction to stir-up the birthers or they finally found some expert forger to produce some more convincing documents.

I see the setup. After much ballyhoo, the actual, real long form will be revealed, and there will be a media-wide blitz to inform everyone everywhere that it proves that Barry was born in Hawaii and the Birthers have as much cred as the Truthers and the Grassy Knoll theorists.
The blitz probably will run for two weeks and will include news coverage covering other news coverage, plus “drops” in sitcoms, the late night shows, and the weather and traffic reports (jk).
This will be done to divert attention from the real issues, which is eligibility, the Constitution, and being a natural born citizen of the United States of America.
Then there are the school records we have not seen. This is all so irritating since the last president we had made his dental records public to prove he was on base on a certain day!
It defies belief that Stanley Anne Dunham gave birth to her son in Kenya - that an 18 year old traveled from America to a Third World country in 1961 in order to give birth.
Obama has concealed his "long form" birth certificate because it contains information that contradicts his carefully constructed life story.
It may very well list his name as "Barry Dunham" or "Stanley Dunham." It may very well designate his father as "unknown."
It may cast into question his true paternity, and reveal his entire "Dreams From My Father" mystique as a desperate act of self-invention.

The sudden attention of Abercrombie, Matthews, the Chicago Sun-Times, CNN, etc. is very likely their attempt to show, “aha! he WAS born in HI,” diverting attention from the ‘natural born’ language of the Constitution, and the possibility the SCOTUS could take up that question.
The birth certificate, imo, has never been anything but a red herring. Obama’s birth place, or documentation therof, is totally irrelevant assuming the deVatell definition of ‘natural born’ is what the Framers adopted.
The media ‘blitz’ from the left could well be coordinated by Mrs. Robert Bauer (Anita Dunn), former WH communications director. Bauer himself is now WH counsel; his firm has just entered as counsel of record (supplanting the Solicitor General) in a case that is now before the SCOTUS.

Your instincts are correct Democrats raising this issue is certainly suspicious.
However it is easily explained. Democrats are employing a tactic by which they go on offense with their weakest liability. Their hope is to intimidate so-called birthers and people such as yourself from making the BC an issue for 2012. If they can control the narrative by making questioning Soetoro’s BC as nutty and kinda stupid weak kneed Republicans wouldn’t dare to pursue the subject thereby forcing Republicans to fold on a very strong hand.
In Poker terminology Democrats are bluffing. They don’t want to show their hand so they’re raising the stakes to get Republicans to fold in this issue.
The fact is if Soetoro had a birth certificate he could show he’d have shown it by now.
All the more reason to pursue this. This issue is the lynch pin that brings everything down. Soetoro’s executive orders, his appointments, the laws he’s signed and the Democrat Party. Everything end when this usurper is exposed.

The last election gave the pubbies a super majority in both state houses and the governorships of many states. pubbies from several state houses have said already that after the first of the year —they will introduce legislation to
make it mandatory that every presidential candidate

Incorrect. The wheels of justice grind slowly. It has taken 2 years for several cases to reach the Supreme Court. Two more are slated for January 7th and 14th. The issue was never all-but-dead and it is not going away.

Obama at some point will need to decide whether he is running for re-election and then place his name on the State ballots (there are deadlines involved in order to do so). In the meantime several States are asserting their rights since Congress failed on January 8, 2009 to verify Obama’s consitutional eligibility.

Several of the States will “demand proof” the next time of his “Natural Born Citizenship”. He cannot produce such proof if BH Obama Sr. is his father. BHO Sr. was an English citizen when Obozo was born, hence is not a NBC if BHO Sr. is the father.... End of story. (may be)
