Krauthammer on Obama: "He Had an Unbelievable December...What He's Achieved Is Quite Amazing"
Hot Air Pundit ^ | DECEMBER 22, 2010 | Hot Air Pundit

Ouch Charles !...., Keep in mind that Obama has huge majorities in both Houses and you've got a lot of Republicans with absolutely no backbone

Krauthammer: "He had a unbelievable December, he came back in a way that is quite stunning..He restored himself as a player in Washington, he's relevant and what he's achieved is quite amazing...That's a lot to achieve for a guy that got shellacked and was on the mat, he got off the mat in a way that was not expected."

Note: at 5:20 you'll see Stephen Hayes shaking his head in disagreement

Quote: “Meanwhile, the republicans are blowing it big time. They have two years to redeem themselves, this time their voters won’t be coming back.”

Which one’s are those? The Republicans who were thrown out on their arses by the voters or the one’s who have been RINO’s since day one. Let’s not tar and feather the newly elected congress based on the actions of this current group of losers. In addition, the last election was simply the start of the job. There are many more RINO’s who need to feel the sting of primary defeat in the coming election. This is a process that one election cycle is not going to cure.

“Charles is sounding more and more like the typical Washington insider.”

When was he ever anything else?

Why this guy has any appeal to conservatives is beyond me.

Nothing surprising here. Obama and the dems are employing a “scorched earth” political policy with the help of some RINO enablers. Krauthammer has been inside the beltway too long, just like most of the other talking heads. I reached a point that the only thing I found worth watching on FNC were the “All Stars” and then not even that.

Yeah - how many people in history can say they’ve single handily dismantled a super power?

I really like Krauthammer, but he seems irrationally enamored with Obama. Krauthammer believes that Obama is just as brilliant as all his cultist followers believe him to be, and on that point I think he’s absolutely wrong. Obama was given huge majorities in both houses of congress, and a pathetically fawning national news media. It was inevitable that he would have many major legislative successes. More telling in this near-perfect environment are his clumsy failures.

Charles Krauthammer does us a favor by reminding us of the power of mainstream conventional wisdom. He does not endorse Obama and in fact seriously questioned Obama’s competence during his recent disaster in Asia.

We need to be extremely vigilant and keep heavy pressure on the GOP in the new congress. The performance of most of the GOP in the last 2 weeks is a disgrace and hands whatever momentum we gave to the Tea Partiers on Nov. 2 back to the Democrats. Krauthammer is right to say it is a conventional win for Obama and our Republican senate especially caved to give him some big wins. Rather than blame Charles we need to put the pressure where it belongs.

Do not and never will understand the leg-tingling in the media for this guy.

All of Obama’s “successes” were passed in the most underhanded way possible by the refusal to let the public see the actual legislation that was being voted on; they were supported by a number of legislators who were removed from office by the voters and shouldn’t have been voting on any legislation.

All lame-duck sessions should be eliminated, immediately. They are in their essence undemocratic, and they encourage legislators to sandbag bills until after they no longer have to worry about those pesky voters.

"I really like Krauthammer, but he seems irrationally enamored with Obama."

He wasn't until he finally realized that the GOP nobility is going to lose control and the Tea Party is going to take over and shape build the new new republican party. Kraut thinks anything, even Barry Soetoro or some other fascist democrat, is better than whoever the horrible Tea Party and outsiders like DeMint will back in 2012.

Krauthammer can't get past the idea that the riff raff should listen in rapt silence to the pundits. If losing is what it takes to keep the nobility in charge, then losing is the right thing to do in the minds of people like Kraut. Had he quietly accepted O'Donnell, done his part to defend and help her, and then spoken up about what a poor candidate she was after the election, his opinion would still carry some weight with me. As it actually happened, though, he showed his true colors as someone who believes that the government is an elitist master the nobility should run rather rather than a servant of the voters who fund it.

Regards

I am so sick of these people. All they do is pick or adore each other while our elected Congress has shot us down.

Somethings up because this has been a trend of Krauthammer...last few weeks have been bizarre for him.

There is the reality in the numbers. The numbers are:

U.S. House: 256 Democrats, 178 Republicans and one vacancy

U.S. Senate: 57 Democrats, 41 Republicans, and 2 Independents

Zer0 merely stuffed the Lame Duck down our throats.

However, there will be changes . . .

U.S. House: 193 Democrats, 242 Republicans

U.S. Senate: 51 Democrats, 2 Independents and 47 Republicans.

The facts are that no amount of candy would have changed the results. The Democrats at this time have 78 more seats in Congress and 18 more seats (includes the 2 independents) in the Senate. We are luck that the Dream Act did not get rammed down our throats too.

Maybe Krauthammer is gay and was all happy about repealing DADT.

Krauthammer is an example of why Washington needs to be dismantled. Brilliant people go there and get marinated in the heady brew of power, money and influence. No one escapes uncorrupted.

You are hitting on the nail. The GOP lost the momentum of the election. That is the key issue.

Charles is correct—B.O. did have a good December.

The Republicans had, once again, spineless wimps in the Senate...some of them outgoing (Voinovich and Bennett), some of them panty waists (Lugar, Collins, Snowe) and some of them just vindictive morons (Murkowski).

So these RINOs threw a temper tantrum and helped the Marxist with his agenda.

We have to hope for better from incoming Senators and the House of Reps.

Maybe it could be said this way: Republicans had a bad December after a GREAT November. :)
