There is the reality in the numbers. The numbers are:
U.S. House: 256 Democrats, 178 Republicans and one vacancy
U.S. Senate: 57 Democrats, 41 Republicans, and 2 Independents
Zer0 merely stuffed the Lame Duck down our throats.
However, there will be changes . . .
U.S. House: 193 Democrats, 242 Republicans
U.S. Senate: 51 Democrats, 2 Independents and 47 Republicans.
Given that the two Independents (what a joke!) ALWAYS vote with the Dems, I believe the familiar refrain for the next two years will be...
Snowe, Collins, Murkowski, Brown, and Kirk join Dems. Thus they will only need two other votes (Graham, McCain, et al depending on the issue) to reach the magic '60'.
I see the Republican house putting many a bill up to the Senate where they will promptly die or be 'compromised' until they lose their teeth. The bills, I mean.
