East coast, south of your location. Bright, clear, and beautiful. Longer days ahead.

Trying to stay awake until 1:32am when it starts. Don’t think I’ll make until 3am to see the full eclipse.

Beautiful, clear moonrise here (northwestern North Carolina) but patchy clouds now. Pretty thin, so it’ll still be visible. Might even give a reddish glow to them, which would be cool looking, if slightly eerie.

San Jose CA. After days of rain, fog and clouds it’s a clear, crisp night with wispy clouds. Hoping to stay up for the beginning at least.

It is supposed to be around 9:40 PST - we have clear sky in western WA and can see the moon perfectly, but nothing is happening.

It was like that here too, a ring around the moon--my 10 y/o called it a werewolf moon, LOL. I remember an old Dan Fogelberg song (one of my favorites) called
"In the Passage" when I see this kind of moon:
IN THE PASSAGE
There's a ring around the moon tonight and a chill in the air
And a fire in the stars that hang so near, so near
There's a sound in the wind that blows through the wild mountain holds
Like the sighs of a thousand crying souls, crying souls
There's a time when the traveler is fated to find
That insight has turned his gaze behind, behind
And the steps taken yesterday will beckon again
And lead to his weary journey's end, his journey's end
[Chorus:]
And in the passage from the cradle to the grave
we are born, madly dancing
Rushing headlong through the crashing of the days
We run on and on without a backwards glance
We run on and on without a backwards glance
I cast my fate with the wife of Lot I turned my gaze around
Knowing neither what I sought nor what was to be found
Heeding weakness, feeding strength, oh life at length is frail
I seek again the river's source through time's dark shadowed veil,
time's dark shadowed veil
In the fast fading century, as we spin through the years
I pray that our failing vision clears, our vision clears
[Chorus:]
And in the passage from the cradle to the grave
we are born, madly dancing
Rushing headlong through the crashing of the days
We run on and on without a backwards glance
We run on and on without a backwards glance
The places dash and the faces dart like fishes in a dream
Hiding 'neath the murky banks of long forgotten streams
The lines of life are never long when seen from end to end
The future's never coming, and the past has never been
There's a ring around the moon tonight, and a chill in the air
And a fire in the stars that hang so near, so near

Here in the southwest it is hazy but bright, I could go hiking without a flashlight but I don’t see any real change yet.

I saw the huge halo around the moon last night. (It's morning in my part of the world now.)
Because it's daytime, we don't get to see the eclipse. We looked up the viewing areas yesterday and saw that we were completely out of it.
I hope y'all get to see it. I wonder if it will be a "blood moon?"

Yes it should be a blood moon.

You are back over there already?Yep. I was home for 24 glorious days that went by at the speed of light. :)
I've seen a couple of those blood moons before and they are spectacular. I think the last one I saw was in Houston around '98 or '99...somewhere around then. And I'm pretty sure it was summertime.

Was wondering if anyone would comment. Just went outside and the moon is at 12 o’clock and kicka$$ bright tonight, must be really good atmospherics here.
To: decimon
Thin clouds moving in now, but it should not obstruct the view.
