Will Palin Run? She Already Is
Pajamas Media ^ | December 3, 2010 | AWR Hawkins

Posted on 12/03/2010 8:02:18 AM PST by Kaslin

Just sit back and watch her go, because she’s running for the White House right now.

>Questions about Sarah Palin’s future political plans are ubiquitous. From the left and the right, political pundits wonder aloud if she’s really thinking about running for the office of president in 2012. And depending on the pundit, the questions over whether she will run are usually tied to reasons why she should or shouldn’t.

But missing in all this guesswork over Palin’s intentions and the weighing of the pluses and minuses of her possible candidacy is the simple fact that she’s already running for president, and so far, she’s beating Obama and the mainstream media at every turn.

While I’ve suspected that she was already running for some time, it dawned on me with near certainty after she released her “Thanksgiving Message to All 57 States” last week. Her willingness to mock Obama’s 2008 claim that he’d campaigned in “57 states” proved that she has absolutely no fear of running against him. It also showed that she meant what she said about running against Obama in 2012 when she told Barbara Walters she could beat Obama.

I believe she started running for the office on the first weekend of February 2010, when she stood before the Tea Party convention in Nashville, Tennessee, and asked: “How’s that hope-y, change-y stuff working for you?”(It doesn’t seem a great stretch to reach back to 1980 and juxtapose this with then-candidate Ronald Reagan’s famous question about the Carter years: “Are you better off now than you were four years ago?”)

At that same Tea Party convention, the mainstream media seized on the fact that Palin had written speech notes on the palm of one of her hands before ascending the podium. Groups like ThinkProgress.org and media figures like Andrea Mitchell mocked Palin for this, so Palin simply mocked them back by showing up a few days later at a campaign stop for Texas Governor Rick Perry with the words “Hi Mom” written on the palm of her hand.

Since then, she’s continued to dismantle the assaults of the mainstream media while simultaneously taking Obama to task on point after point.

For example, she seized on Obama’s April 2010 statement that “the United States will not use nuclear weapons against a non-nuclear country” as being indicative of his ignorance about nuclear weapons in the first place. She then mockingly added that it was just more proof of “the vast nuclear experience [Obama] acquired as a community organizer.”

More recently, she told Fox News that her reality show, Sarah Palin’s Alaska, could soon be followed up by a sequel titled Barack Obama’s golf courses. The implication being that the current “commander in chief will have plenty of time on his hands after the 2012 elections.”

Counting her time on the national stage as a vice presidential candidate with John McCain, America has had over two years to watch Palin speak from the heart, while listening to Obama speak from a teleprompter. They’ve heard her relentless calls for a strong military, while watching Obama try to appease (instead of destroy) terrorists the world over. They’ve heard her defend the free market, while living with the ramifications of Obama’s stimulus package, nationalization of industry, and takeover of health care.

The American people have even seen a microcosm of a Palin-versus-Obama matchup via the 2010 midterm elections in which 30 of 43 of the House candidates she endorsed won, as did 7 of the 12 Senate candidates she supported. Moreover, those elections proved that while rank-and-file citizens largely support Palin’s worldview, they are rejecting Obama’s.

No wonder CBS News’ Nicolle Wallace said of Palin: “She is one of the shrewdest political figures in our country at this moment. She’s also one of the most electric.”

So while the pundits guess, stabbing blindly into the air in an attempt to come up with proof of whether Palin will or won’t run, the rest of us should just sit back and watch her go, because she’s running for the White House right now.

And if I had to place a bet on who wins in 2012, my money would be on Palin.

Yes, wonderful articles today and I pinged Sarah List maybe 4 or 5 times...I hate to over ping but we had such good news today!

“Sarah Palin’s Alaska” is TLC #1 show and her book “America by Heart” debued #2 on the NYT’s Best Seller List, right beneath GWB’s “Decision Points”!
#43 and #45! Woo-Hoo!

Quite reasonably, his book is number one -— and will likely remain number one. He’s been on every news show imaginable and of course she’s not been on one, but he’s also the former president and almost everyone wants to read how he made his decisions. I bought his book - hardcover and audio.

... almost speechless. Perfectly stated. My heart is pounding.

I felt the same, reading that. I had a hard time coming up with the words to express the depth of what that says to me.

I thought the word, "ineluctable" was a home run, but this........wow. I still can't find words to express what I'm thinking.

You expressed your thoughts perfectly. I read the WVNan’s post with the pic of RWR and Sarah and I sat quietly....thinking...and followed the links until I read your comments. Unfortunately, my sweet husband has already ‘retired’ for the night, because I want his thoughts, which will have to wait until morning. I will ping Al B. He’s plenty smart enough to track our posts.

Oh yeah, and Glenn Beck’s book, “Broke” is #8....LOL.
He’s really hated. Ha ha ha. BOR’s “Pinheads and Patriots” has dropped to #14. I wouldn’t buy that one for a dollar.

“Then it’s just winning the nomination, defining the opponent, defining the issues and agenda and we’ve got President Palin.”

Gov Palin is a genius.

“McCain wrought more than he realised. Look it up. I like the “unmodified inheritance of ancestral character.””

Surely, Nostradamus must also have written something. Can anybody please enlighten?

I didn't say laws cannot be repealed .To repeal a law Congress has to take legislative action to repeal each law. That is Congress has to pass a law to repeal another one. And that means a battle that requires all the steps of passing a bill , cloture, veto , battling the media etc.

That's why I said all laws should be made to expire , so they will self repeal. that is not how it is now. The democrats diabolically write a law and that program , agency and spending is mandatory forever until some other law or amendment repeals it.

You , as most people do (at least those who even think of this) believe wrongly can Congress can just defund some program like social security without passing a law and that's where you all are mistaken as the liberal media wants all you to be uninformed to make it easier to blame Republicans as they blamed them last time.

I said make all laws expire after 3 years.

Then only the laws that are really wanted are kept.

If you can’t make all laws you need in 3 years or so then you are not for limited government. Enjoy your socialism.

It floored me too Windflier. I’ve been holding her in prayer all day. As one who knows a little bit of Hebrew, I know how God puts emphasis on the meaning of words. Words are like “things” in the Old Testament. I got the word from a commenter on the American Thinker article. I want to give them credit. It blew me away and I wanted to get it out there. I sent it via e-mail to Conservative4 Palin in hopes that she will see it.

Every funding of the federal government each year is by new legislation..
Its what in the legislation is what counts and whats NOT IN IT..

Good luck. Most conservatives have left New Hampshire...most of your ‘rebels’ are Free Staters and progressives. (Look how the GOP state party cut Jennifer Horn off at the knees...) After reading the vicious comments in the local papers over the past months; I don’t think Sarah has a chance in NH (if she runs, of course)...hope I’m wrong.

No.

Congress must write a new law to defund what funding is mandated in another law.

For example Obamacare. To defund all or most of that then the Republican House must pass a new law. But then the Senate will block it or the President will veto it. same for social security, medicare, medicaid etc. Bush and Republicans wanted to privatize social security but the media and democrats stopped them.

There is some discretionary spending that is in appropriations bills but most spending democrats diabolically mandated that spending in law. Mandatory Spending is WRITTEN in law.. Congress and the President must follow the law too. The media wants everyone to believe that the Congress and or President make the budget somehow every year. That is a lie and I see that even after posting links even on here people just don't get it.
This is a quote from a web site:

http://wonkroom.thinkprogress.org/?p=29710

Mandatory spending, such as Medicare and Medicaid, continues from year to year unless Congress passes new legislation to reduce it; discretionary spending, which covers most of the day-to-day operations of federal agencies, is appropriated every year in annual appropriations bills. It’s far easier for Congress to adjust an appropriations mark than muster the political support to pass new legislation to defund the new Medicaid expansion or affordability credits to middle class Americans

What you think is going in is similar to what I'm proposing.

That is not what is going on.

It is ridiculous to think that Congress every year goes through hundreds of thousands of pages of Laws and tries to figure out if every line or paragraph of legalese mandating some spending will be “funded” or not and how that relates to the other thousands of agencies and programs..

Most spending is mandatory , written in diabolically by democrats to be permanent , mandatory , forever and growing , automatic. This is why Congress has too much power. Almost anything they can imagine can become law if lawyers write it.

I wonder how many people don't understand how Congress works. No wonder the country keeps moving to the left.

No doubt, someone's going to show it to her at some point. She's far too humble to let it go to her head, but I'm sure she'll get a kick out of it.

On the other hand, she may look at the obvious message in those words, and feel strengthened in her purpose to lead America back to greatness.

Thanks for sharing it with all of us. I immediately saved it to my computer as soon as I saw it.

[ This is why Congress has too much power. Almost anything they can imagine can become law if lawyers write it. ]

Congress has too much power?.. Congress has the power of the purse..
What they fund gets funded or continues to get funded..
What they UNfund or UNderfund gets UNfunded..or UNderfunded..

A corrupt people elect a corrupt Congress...
ELSE they would UNcorrupt it..

We have the government NOW that reflects the American people..
If americans get more circumspect they will elect a more circumspect government..
Congress has exactly the power they want and deserve..

ALL legislation(funding) begins and ends in the House of Representatives..
IF the House does not pass it, it does not get funded or enacted..
The House can end Executive Orders by a vote to do just that.. even over the Presidents VETO..
The House can limit the Presidents power.. the President cannot limit Congress's power..

I was around for Reagan, she is Reagan IN High Heels! But better looking, Reagan was not in prime.

Also she Quicker in getting her words out, then any politician in the last 50 years, this is a sign she says what she believes!

Finally, someone who tells the Truth,

She a woman, some seems to think a women can’t run this country, that’s another reason why she needs to be the first women President!

She would do a lot to hurt men having sex with men lifestyle,

Normal would be back in again!

That’s probably the biggest reason that the anti Palin freepers keeping spurring out all the same negatives Reagan lived with, yes, our token liberal democrat Trolls and with their sick lifestyle)!

I wonder if “pissant” is a LOG CABIN REPUBLICAN?

Now his name makes sense!
