The attack dogs are out, and they're not Democratic.
They are Republicans who "knew Reagan" and play the phony "you're no Reagan" or "how dare you compare yourself to Reagan" or "how dare you put down Reagan," or some variation on that theme, against Sarah Palin.
The latest is Ed Rollins (Palin, I knew Reagan. You're no Reagan.), who just happens to be Mike Huckabee's former campaign manager, doing his best impression of Joe Scarborough, Kathleen Parker and Peggy Noonan.
Okay, so you knew Reagan. His greatness and class obviously didn't rub off on you.
What have you done for us lately?
How many Congressional seats did you help win in the mid-terms, how much money did you raise for non-establishment candidates, what have you ever done in the past twenty years other than run your mouth and put down other Republicans for your own personal aggrandizement?
So the next time those of you who want to tear apart the successful Republican coalition for your own personal fame and ambition want to invoke Reagan's name, don't.
Very good and right to the point. I guess the so-called establishment didn’t quite get the message in November. We finish the job in 2012 and kick these self absorbed arrogant bastards to the curb where they belong.
She had no choice if she was going to survive both financially and politically:
Sarah Palin, Barack Obama, And The Cost Of Fighting Chicago Thug Politics
Palin, the Alaska Bloggers and "Ethicsgate"
Why let Rino’s and liberals spam each thread here??
As for those that knew Reagan, I think Michael Reagan knew his father better than anyone and when Sarah Palin came on the scene as McCain’s running mate he published an article with a title something like “Dad, I never suspected you would come back wearing a skirt.” Michael Reagan sure thought Sarah Palin was another Ronald Reagan.
LOL, a great image!

Please explain in detail exactly why it is time for a woman to be POTUS. It sounds an awful lot like 'it's time for a black man to be POTUS' from a scant few years ago.
And, you do of course realize the irony of somebody with your screen name shilling for a pro-amnesty poltician....don't you?
That's the truth. I don't like trading insults with these people, but sometimes it's all you can end up doing. They're just immensely disruptive and a general downer to the whole board. Some of them just need the zot.
it's time for a black man to be POTUS' from a scant few years ago.
Although I do not begrudge the will of those who voted,
I, for one, realize Zero is/was a mistake.
btw...I did not vote for Zero.
I do not begrudged women in positions of power. Your post
didn't state such, I realize this. Is four more years
of Zero, when there is a woman who is not Palin in
comparison to all of the men, waiting for the opportunity
to give a woman's perspective, much as a Lady Thatcher
gave a perspective, of the time, she was in office
while President Reagan, also was in office, something to begrudge?
Now I realize I just opened a can of worms, and now the comparison will come
Sarah is no Lady Thatcher.
So what? If Sarah is not given a chance, America will never know.
This time give me a woman's perspective over all the men running.
(One is reminded of another woman's words - "We have to pass it to see what's in it.")
This time give me a woman's perspective over all the men running.
(Would "a wise latina woman" count?)
Your position really is silly.
To set the record straight. I have never supported Pelosi nor did I support Sotomoyor.
Thank you for calling me silly. I will admit I am not the sharpest tool in the tool box. In fact, I am quite dull.
I appreciate your opinion and I appreciate your perspective. I sincerely appreciate your post to me. I realize your wish is I defend myself. Been there, done that. I instead choose to defend a woman named Sarah Palin.
I begrudge none who will defend oneself, in the face of overwhelming odds. Sarah has the 'good ole boys' facing what could be called 'overwhelming odds'. Pelosi was not facing overwhelming odds and neither was Sotomoyor. This fact is a fact that cannot be changed.
I will take this chance with Sarah, while I ask for God's will to be done. I realize this may not please those who question why. Mine is a gut reaction. I shall trust God and my gut for and by asking Sarah to Go For It.
Being the sharpest tool in the box, is not always necessary to do the job....btw. I know you know this, and I am not saying the sharpest tool is always the best for the job to be done properly. Have a Great Day. Be Safe.
I worked for President Reagan, too. I miss him like I miss my dad. What’s your point, Ed?
Old Ed Rollins made a career out of Ronald Reagan’s coattails, so he should know.
I think the tipping point has been reached on Palin-bashing. She is reaching out to a broader and more general audience outside the Fox niche. These will be people who don’t pay attention to politics, and perhaps are only vaguely aware of past attacks on her.
Gratuitous criticism will look like someone is bashing a military mom of a handicapped child, and people will get resentful. In fact, GOPer’s stance toward Palin could turn into a litmus test for RINOism in 2012.
Most seem to have started appreciating the attention and benefits she brings to conservatism, while not necessarily endorsing her as a presidential candidate. Vindictive and personalized attacks, especially in the absence of any direct provocation on her part, are curious.
Palin’s image (positive, happy, constructive middle American woman) is spreading through mainstream and popular media, and the desperate hope that it will turn people against her is not at all certain.
I like this guy and his blog. No nonsense and he gets right to the point!
Thanks very much for the posting!
LOL. That one is a piece of work, Sarah hater. Lakeshark is right. I posted a Rasmussen poll to him, a list of links ot her accomplishments and a March, 1980 poll that showed Ronald Reagan trailing Ford and Carter by 30 points, but the “smartest guy on the whole of FR” ignored every factual post to him, preferring to slime Sarah Palin with *his* opinion.

Beautifully stated, but the Palin bashing now will seem like rain showers in the Spring time if or when she announces her candidacy.
Agreed. It’s only going to get much, much worse.
I disagree. If the economy rebounds, I think Sarah Palin is the only one who could beat Obama. She’s on a different plane. Some things in history have happened that seem to have been ordered from on high. More and more I get the sense that she’s one of them. Woe to those that try to hurt her. The worn out catch-phrase, “she’s just like us”, is just not true. She’s different and better than all of us and especially better than the tokyo roves of the world and his fellow beltway strategists/commentators/writers..
