The attack dogs are out, and they're not Democratic.
They are Republicans who "knew Reagan" and play the phony "you're no Reagan" or "how dare you compare yourself to Reagan" or "how dare you put down Reagan," or some variation on that theme, against Sarah Palin.
The latest is Ed Rollins (Palin, I knew Reagan. You're no Reagan.), who just happens to be Mike Huckabee's former campaign manager, doing his best impression of Joe Scarborough, Kathleen Parker and Peggy Noonan.
Okay, so you knew Reagan. His greatness and class obviously didn't rub off on you.
What have you done for us lately?
How many Congressional seats did you help win in the mid-terms, how much money did you raise for non-establishment candidates, what have you ever done in the past twenty years other than run your mouth and put down other Republicans for your own personal aggrandizement?
So the next time those of you who want to tear apart the successful Republican coalition for your own personal fame and ambition want to invoke Reagan's name, don't.
I thought this short blog post was a worthwhile read. Have at it.
Rollins is an out-of-touch fossil, who doesn’t follow Reagan’s “Eleventh Commandment”: Do not speak ill of another Republican.
He’s obviously hoping that Huck will hire him again, but perhaps Huck will want someone more competent this time around.
Good article.
He coincidentally works for Huckaphony.
Exactly. This is merely a phony divisive distraction designed to impugn Sarah Palin. It is anything but Sarah vs. Ronald. Right now, it's Sarah vs. the 'Seven (or so) Dwarfs' for the privilege of the mantle ... "Who Is Most Like President Reagan".
Right now, Sarah stands head and shoulders above Mitty, Huckie and the other retreads from '08.
yep, President Ronald Reagan did an excellent job, in spite of the ‘good ole boys’. It is time for a woman’s (actually a lady’s) perspective and the ‘good ole boys’ can’t help but wet in their pants. ‘good ole boys’ go to the bathroom, and do your business, stop wetting your pants.
She does. Trying to tear her down will be difficult, but they sure are trying. Kind of like a half dozen or so trolls on FR...........
Why does Jim allow these counter-productive accounts to remain on FR?
I thought he banned liberals? (I have never seen ANY of them working against Obama)
Particularly when the trolls rarely engage in discussion, rather they push leftist talking points to the point of making everyone throw up.
I attempted to engage one of them nicely along with onyx last night. He never responded to points we made, just kept shifting to insult. This guy thinks of himself as the smartest person on FR, yet can't rebut or discuss a single thing.
I've given up on a few of them.
Very succinct, and a good point was made.
That is SO disgusting. How life has changed.
It’s no use. Give up on them all. They’re not worth your time.
They are too cowardly to do their own dirty work, so they are using surrogates like Scarborough, Noonan, Parker, and Rollins for the hatchet work.
And taking a few pages out of the Rat's Alinsky playbook, they are also using online operatives to infiltrate Conservative and Republican websites, posting subversive comments as "seminar" posters and/or "concern" trolls.
The GOP poo-bahs consider Sarah more of a threat than Obama, and are perfectly willing to burn the Republican Party to the ground in order to undermine her.
It's both infuriating and pathetic!
It is indeed. We’ve seen this in the past:

Just sayin’.
I've been very impressed with the TLC show and think it was a great idea to keep her in the public eye. I can see liberals opposing her on the issues but I just do not understand how anyone could hate the Palins after watching this show. Every episode just reinforces the idea that they are honest, hardworking Americans. There are very few politicians I can picture driving around in an RV and doing some commercial fishing with their families.
For me the difficult part of her candidacy is that while I think she could easily dominate the primary I don't know how she would fare in the general election. I know the media is underestimating her electability but I'm just not sure she can clear the final hurdle. This relentless Palin bashing that many Republicans are doing is suicide for the party. There are plenty of ways for them to disagree with her on the issues without the pettiness and envy that they seem to enjoy. To try and just tear her down ala Peggy Noonan or this latest buffoon just turns tea party voters away from Republicans. Ultimately we still have a long way to go until 2012 and a lot can change. If the economy rebounds sharply it will be very difficult to unseat Obama. On the other hand if it remains weak any Republican nominee may be able to win.
Your entire post was a good one, very thoughtful. Although I don't necessarily agree with it, it's an honest take on the matter.
I think your last sentence is absolutely spot on. If the economy were to rebound, there is no one who can beat the bamster.
Oh-oo-oh you think you're special
Oh-oo-oh, you think you're something else
That don't impress me much
Uh-huh, yeah -yeah
