Obamacare: Uninsuring the Children (NY SEIU drops some members kids, blames Obama!)

Well, this is ironic–a polite word. The SEIU serve as the shock troops for the Obama Administration and other of similar political persuasion. It was sure involved in stuffing Obamacare down the collective throat. But now, New York’s SEIU will no longer insure the children of its lowest paid members–in part because of Obamacare! From the story:

One of the largest union-administered health-insurance funds in New York is dropping coverage for the children of more than 30,000 low-wage home attendants, union officials said. The union blamed financial problems it said were caused by the state’s health department and new national health-insurance requirements…

The union fund faced a “dramatic shortfall” between what employers contributed to the fund and the premiums charged by its insurance provider, Fidelis Care, according to Mitra Behroozi, executive director of benefit and pension funds for 1199SEIU. The union fund pools contributions from several home-care agencies and then buys insurance from Fidelis. “In addition, new federal health-care reform legislation requires plans with dependent coverage to expand that coverage up to age 26,” Behroozi wrote in a letter to members Oct. 22. “Our limited resources are already stretched as far as possible, and meeting this new requirement would be financially impossible.”

The “age 26″ clause was intended to buy support from the middle class (as if we all want a free lunch), which (intended or not) continues America’s ongoing infantilization. But it turns out that all of this maneuvering and special pleading to gain support hurt those Obamacare supporters claim to care about the most.

Obamacare’s folly was to promise it could require insurance companies to provide increased coverage for less money. But that’s not how real life works. What a debacle.

Hey SEIU: This is what you fought for. Maybe broke laws for. Intimidated people for. Well, now ya got it.

So your kids don’t get health care. Don’t worry, the SEIU bosses make plenty to pay for their kids’ coverage. Not that they have to - these cuts don’t affect them, of course.

So the bosses won’t change a thing. Will you SEIU people on the ground? Would surprise me. You’re mostly easily led thugs. Then again, even you pukes probably care about your kids. I hope.

Not going to hold my breath...

Didn’t the illustrious almost blind governor insist that “children” be covered to age 29? They can’t be on their parents’ policy, but must be offered the same coverage on a policy of their own at the same rate as their parents.

The unions have ruined a really nice state!

I told several libs I know (big ObamaCare supporters) that I hoped they were around to see their kids denied proper medical care.

Not that I hoped their kids wouldn’t get care. That’s going to happen anyway thanks to the left. No, I just want them to be here to see the results of their socialist fantasies turning into reality.

Sauce for the goose, sauce for the gander. They want everyone to share the pain, let them share, too.

This is an important reveal, but it will get lost because of the Wikileaks commanding the news cycles for a while.

A LOT of this stuff looks very damaging to Obama. I wonder how much will make it into the US lamestream media?

The union rank and file are massively screwed but the union leaders make out like bandits. The rank and file have been tricked and sold out by their leadership

The simple fact of the matter is that all productive, working people of all classes are going to take a big hit in both higher costs and lower quality of health care to pay for all of the people who ride the system for free.

Lower paid workers get hit harder because a larger fraction of their take home pay gets confiscated and they have less disposable income to start with.

Obama care is not about better health care or saving money, it's about government controlling every facet of our lives.

Too funny.
Why not just call it "Fidel Care" and be done with it?
