I don’t think she will get the nomination. She might be no more guilty than anybody else, GOP or Dem, of the occasional slip of the tongue but everyone of those slips will be amplified and repeated while the verbal gaffes of others are ignored.
What everyone is denying is the truth that the media has defined Palin and done so successfully.
What slip of the T!
Perhaps, but at least she’s fighting back. I don’t recall Dan Quayle being given the opportunity to defend himself on the “potatoe” incident. Of course, that was before the internet. When the loons said “Bush lied, people died”, I don’t recall anyone getting out there and defending him.
Since Palin seems to be the only one fighting back and actually saying something, I think that has to be factored into the equation.
If your choice on the ballot was Palin or Obama, who would you vote for?
They will do the same to whoever is the candidate. The media was ruthless in 2000 but Bush won. Some people falsely believe the media will someday embrace a republican candidate. They will seek to pick apart every statement of everts republican candidate regardless. They threw their own darling Mccain under the bus without second thought 2 years ago.
Don't you just wish that were the case.
One of Sarah Palin's signature claims to fame is that she refuses to sit meekly and allow the MSM and the left to define her, as so many Republicans before her have done. She's showing a whole new generation of Republicans (and quite a few old ones) how to fight back and maintain control of the debate, the message, and their own image.
The only people the MSM are fooling, are those who were never going to vote for a Republican in the first place.
Haley Barbour has already joined the call for conservatives to surrender on social issues, taking out our leading conservative will not help your moderate candidate.
Palin would be my top choice. But every poll has shown, even Rasmussen, that she trails Obama while other candidates beat her. If an acceptable conservative candidate, with less baggage, say Jim Demint, ran, I would vote for him over Palin. We need a conservative in the Whitehouse....which means we need to nominate a rock solid conservative that can win.
In your opinion. Those who have common sense are able to distinguish between truth and the truth the MSM wants us to believe. How sad that some gobble up the crap they are fed - even some here on FR eat from the same spoon.
