Charlie Cook: “Obama has to Pray every Night for Republicans to Nominate Sarah Palin” – Video

Here is video of renowned political prognosticator Charlie Cook reacting to President Obama’s recent arrogant assertion that, “I don’t think about Sarah Palin.” Cook told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell that Obama “has to pray every night for Republicans to nominate Sarah Palin,” because she is a “no fly zone” for Independent voters according to him. Obama was dismissive of Palin after being asked if he thought he could beat her in a potential 2012 matchup for President. Cook cited Palin’s poor showing in polls among Independent voters as the reason why Obama has to be hoping for a Palin nomination in 2012.

Obama had better be careful what he wishes for.

And, by staying home she elects zero for another 4 years. Yeah, that really helps our country doesn’t it? Try explaining this to her.

I don't mind if "independent" moderate, aka confused and ignorant voters sit out. They are no better than a coin toss ever, so I don't think it hurts the country when they get discouraged and sit out. It'd be nice to have someone who could really razzle dazzle em though.

It seems to me that everyone presumed to be a potential candidate is fundamentally flawed. That's not "despite" the doom and gloom. I would think that IS the doom and gloom.

Life is like that. You have to make your choice from the flawed human beings who are actually IN the race.

Nobody is even in the race yet. But of all the contenders I believe that Sarah has the best chance of all of them to beat both 0bama and Hillary.

Things could change. Nothing is written in stone. But when I said that "I tire" of the sniping it is just this: you can be negative against every human who is or ever was. What I humbly suggest is that you find the best characteristics among the various contestants and champion something positive. That makes for a stronger Conservative movement. It doesn't pull our side down.

Oh..so it’s a “conspiracy”. Now I understand.

Can you explain that? What does that have to do with Barbour's making it clear that he is part of the Romney/rino portion of the GOP, do you think that the permanent, what we used to call "the Rockefeller wing" of the GOP is a "conspiracy", or just a liberal part of Republicanism?

Very well said. I am a supporter. I am not a cultist.

My ultimate goal is not to see Palin elected. My goal is for conservative legislation to be put into place. Whatever gives us the best chance of this happening, whether it is Palin or Demint, or some other conservative, I am all for. There are cultists on this board, youngohioconservative comes to mind, who don’t have the endgame in mind.

It wasn’t well said at all.

Artemis Webb jumping on a Palin thread in an effort to stop her, to advance the No chance guy that has come out against the tea party and Governor Palin and social conservatism, is merely a harmful troll tactic that serves the advancement of the other two frontrunners, Mitt Romney, and Mike Huckabee.

ansel2,

We need healthcare repealed. We need spending pulled back dramatically. Yes, we need social issues addressed. To do this, we need to win. Most importantly, we need to add conservatives to the supreme court. Another 4 years of Obama will be disastrous. We cannot have a Sharon Angle Harry Reid replay at the national level.

As I said before, if a rock solid conservative enters the race with a better chance of winning then Sarah, then I'll vote for that person. If not, I'll vote for Sarah. It would have to be someone in the mold of Jim Demint. Me personally, I'll take a look at each acceptable conservative candidate, and then vote for the one that has the best chance of winning....and no, I don't consider Huckabee or Romney even close to acceptable.

DeMint would be an excellent candidate. I wish he would show a little more indication of a willingness to run but hopefully we’ll see that after the first of the year.

Yes, we need social issues addressed. To do this, we need to win.

With a candidate that has not run on a platform rejecting the party platform on social issues, and announcing to the nation, voters and nonvoters alike, including those too young to vote, and the young voters themselves, that they are no longer important.

In the coming primary battle, the establishment, the “smart” money, the RINOs, the Sodom and Gomorrah political whores and the media are all aligned against the people with wicked giant Myth Romney. We the little people are backing Sarah the RINO Slayer from the North. It’s an uphill battle against huge odds, but we’ll be praying we’re on God’s side. We’ll need all the help we can get to smite the heathen giants.

Wonderful that Jim is backing Sarah.
I’m backing other conservatives.

Why are you addressing this to me? I haven’t researched, haven’t commented, and know very little about Haley Barbour. I was agreeing with what Artemis said regarding Palin cultists vs. supporters. That is all.

I wasn’t posting to you about Haley Barbour, it was a statement that eliminated almost every challenger to Governor Palin to date.

First of all, no one is declared....but out of those seriously leaning that I’ve researched (Palin, Romney, Huckabee) you are right...every Palin challenger to date is not acceptable...if a Jim Demint steps in, then that will no longer be the case...if a Jim Demint type does not step in, then I guess we’ll both be voting for Sarah in the primaries.

No, you are supportiung Haley Barbour, check your home page.

Your guy Barbour has already joined forces with the anti-social conservative camp, with his support for the “truce” on social conservatism called for by by Daniels, and his taking a stand against the tea party movement with his dismissal of Palin and Beck, and the movement.

Barbour has made it clear that he is solidly in the Romney/rino part of the GOP that we are at war with.

"No, you are supportiung [sic] Haley Barbour, check your home page."

Actually Barbour is my second choice. My first choice is Jim DeMint but my good FRiend upchuck was already running a Jim Demint Ping List. That combined with the fact that DeMint is being a little cagey about his intentions got me to looking for alternatives, which is where I decided on the ping list-less and conservative Haley Barbour.

"It is your home page, and Haley Barbour is your ping list"

So if Slings and Arrows puts smurfs on his ping list does that mean he supports Papa Smurf for President?

Trolling Palin threads, putting Haley Barbour as your home page, running the Haley Barbour for President ping list, and you want to deny that you support him?

Something is wrong with you, no wonder you are trolling against our conservative front runner.

Oh I do support him. I support Jim DeMint too. There are other conservatives I could support also. Heck if Sarah Palin gets the nomination I’ll support her.

What you seem to not understand because it forces you to look in the mirror is that my problem is not with Sarah Palin but her worshipers...of which you are one.
