Huckabee: Palin May Run Away With It
Mike Huckabee was in Iowa today for an event with an Iowa social conservative group that he made clear was a political event. In numerous statements, he has implied as strong as he is can that he is gearing up for another run at the White House in 2012. He even sent a secret signal to his supporters by wearing a purple tie. An inside joke among his devotes is that wearing a purple tie is a signal that he is likely running in 2012.
In his meeting with reporters, he indicated that he certainly takes a potential challenge from Sarah Palin seriously. From the Des Moines Register blog
No question, she will be a very, very strong presence and force, if she gets in, Huckabee told reporters in Des Moines Sunday. You know, she may run away with it. And thats one of those things everyone needs to be prepared for.
If I get in, I prefer she not and that she endorse me, Huckabee then joked.
Palin will be in Little Rock for her book tour on Tuesday, November 30 at 5:30 pm at Sams. No word if she will meet with the press but this might be something to ask her about.
I prefer neither Romney, Palin or Hucksterbee.
One RINO, one dunce and one religious salesman.
Palin will run and can win.
Purple tie? That’s gay.
For a dunce, she has done quite well for herself. What have YOU done that's even remotely comparable?
Flame away, but Huck was nice to SP here, at least publicly. He certainly comes across to me as likeable, but I know he is not as conservative or as common sense as SP.
Oh, how I wish we can find someone else to vote for. Mitch, Jindal, Haley, who else?
I was sitting in a restaurant this morning listen to some local (liberal) politician and a union rep talking about Palin and the presidency. They desperately want Sarah to win the GOP nomination so that they can walk to victory in 2012. The media will build her up in the areas needed for her to win the nomination, then they’ll marginalize her at best, and destroy her at worst.
P;ease answer the question posed by Virginia Ridgerunner.
“I was sitting in a restaurant this morning listen to some local (liberal) politician and a union rep talking about Palin and the presidency. This was their plan in 1980 (the last time the GOP nominated a conservative) as well. How did that one work out?
it is annoying when journalists refer to the “Iowa presidential primary.” The reason should be obvious.
Of course, on the GOP side, the process that is reported by the media is the beauty contest vote, not the delegates selected on caucus night. So it is not a true caucus. The DEMS have a true caucus.
That is the dumbest insult to throw at a fellow Freeper. Why do you have to ask for him/her to compare personal accomplishments against people aspiring to be POTUS?
I have seen many Palin bots do that.
Sarah Palin is a dunce ?
WTH is your problem ?
that sounds like the Media Plan for any R nominee. The media would prefer someone like Mitt or McCain so if by some chance the MSM effort on behalf of Zero doesnt work, then AT Least a limpwristed R wins. But they will marginalize Mitt too. McCain got his NYT marital “scandal” after he was inevitable.
Let’s not worry about what the MSM think. There will be primaries debates etc. Let R voters sort it out.
It was a good statement, I like it’s tone.
This is in keeping with his Palin tone all along, which I interpret as a good sign for those of us that don’t expect him to run, but do expect him to make a positive contribution to our cause.
“Pick me Sarah, pick me!” says the charlatan.
It’s ironic you called Palin a dunce when your post was one of the most airheaded posts I’ve seen today.
Did you catch part 3 of Brit Hume’s special on the rise of Conservatism today? If now I recommend it since it covers Reagan and serves as a great reminder of just how much Sarah and Reagan share at this point in their careers, he was a fighter, too, and greatly underestimated and ridiculed.
I think that they believe in their own lies that Sarah Palin is a dunce and all of that. Good for us.
Calling Palin a dunce on FR, a conservative site, not exactly a bright thing to do. What about reagan’s 11th then?
Your "concern" is duly noted. Now move along...
