I was sitting in a restaurant this morning listen to some local (liberal) politician and a union rep talking about Palin and the presidency. They desperately want Sarah to win the GOP nomination so that they can walk to victory in 2012. The media will build her up in the areas needed for her to win the nomination, then they’ll marginalize her at best, and destroy her at worst.

This was their plan in 1980 (the last time the GOP nominated a conservative) as well. How did that one work out?

that sounds like the Media Plan for any R nominee. The media would prefer someone like Mitt or McCain so if by some chance the MSM effort on behalf of Zero doesnt work, then AT Least a limpwristed R wins. But they will marginalize Mitt too. McCain got his NYT marital “scandal” after he was inevitable.

Let’s not worry about what the MSM think. There will be primaries debates etc. Let R voters sort it out.

I think that they believe in their own lies that Sarah Palin is a dunce and all of that. Good for us.

"•White House political strategists have concluded—regretfully—that Ronald Reagan is fading and will have little chance of winning the Republican presidential nomination in 1980. Why the regrets? Because Carter's aides are convinced that the conservative, 68-year-old former California governor is an easy target. (April 2, 1979)"

So far, every time that stratagey has been applied to her, she’s come right back at them with full force and has only gotten stronger.

What the definition of insanity again?

I’m not surprised a union member was part of said conversation. Those people are idiots.
