Barbara Bush tells Palin to stay home in Alaska instead of running for president

Barbara Bush tells Palin to stay home in Alaska instead of running for president. In comments aired by CNN as part of a teaser of a new Larry King interview that is slated to be aired this coming Monday, Barbara Bush can be watched making quite the derogatory statement about her impression of Palin’s ability to become president in 2012. Instead of giving her opinion on Palin’s chances of winning against Obama, Bush basically tells her to stay home in Alaska! Making matters worse is her husband, George H. W. Bush, who also goes on the record to say that he doesn’t know what the Tea Party movement is all about and even questions its ability to fit into the broader political scene? Seriously?! Maybe instead of skydiving on his birthday, the former president should get a clue on the organic groundswell that is the Tea Party. The Bushes’ comments clearly represent the elite, Republican establishment viewpoint towards Palin and the Tea Party.

Well said.

The media was elated to jump on this, and to take it to its extreme. By pushing the Republican “elitist” theme, they are attempting to divide and conquer on behalf of their pathetic candidate.

As far as I’m concerned, they’re guilty of elder abuse.

The whole Bush clan should pack up and move back to Kennybunkport, Maine, where their blue-blood like minded republicians are.

It is time she stayed home, and pass on interviews.

Barbara Bush conducted herself with class while in Washington DC.

I hate to see her go down the Jimmy Carter trail as she ages.

Am I still on FR? I can’t believe the number of posters who are falling for the liberal media who use this interview as an excuse to aid and abet their own anti-American candidate.

OK so she doesn't like Sarah Palin and might want her other son to be President....the woman is 86 and her husband is 87. They came from an entirely different era of politics and societal norms.

Here's my question, why do any of you care about what she thinks or what he thinks? Do you really believe the old guard Republican folks in DC pick up the phone to ask an 897 year old guy who can barely walk what he thinks? Move onto something that is more important....like keeping the current tax structure.

We’re certainly entitled to have opinions on others’ expressed opinions as well.

I for one have strong opinions on the closet leftism of the entire Bush family that has undermined the GOP and our country for decades now, their continued meddling in national politics to position yet another of their soft-gruel family members for the presidency, using the GOP to advance themselves politically and financially and only after their gains coming out to bash those support in the party made that possible, and, most of all, like Tokyo Rove, their digging in to current GOP pols publicly while steadfastly refusing to criticize our current Marxist-in-Chief.

Lemme see....

Palin might squeeze out the Jeb-ster

The GHWB bunch has little, to no use for Israel

She didn’t go to the right schools and certainly didn’t graduate in a timely manner.

SP is no “One World Order” type.

Palin helped Rick Perry in the primary, much to the chagrin of “their” hand picked RINO, K.B. Hutchison.

Otherwise, I can’t imagine any problems. /sarc

Astounding how they are all silence in regards to the disaster of the punk in office now and have the audacity to pipe up on this. They are sanctimonious and not above it all as is shown by this. Where are the comments on Obama? They aren’t as good as they think they are.

Here's my question, why do any of you care about what she thinks or what he thinks?

Because the irony. Her husband said "read my lips" and then is confused by "Taxed Enough Already." They are the antithesis of the citizen public servant (e.g. Sarah Palin). American does not have royalty, and she most certainly is not the queen mother.

We are conservatives we don't sink to the level of our opposition,

You have pointed out the problem.
We have enough trouble staving off dim attacks without having to rebut republican statements. Bad on her.
What is needed is a united front. If you can't say something nice, be quiet.
As far as GHWB not understanding what the Tea Party is about, well, I think it's pretty clear.
Old school politicians may have trouble with the concept of honesty, integrity, Constitution, Country before politics.
