Please add me.
I will join the chorus:
When you have finished all this, it must be a book and include your city ER experiences, as well.

Welcome to the desert.
FWIW, back before chemtrails, when the song, “Home, Home on the range,..where the skies are not cloudy all day...” was identifiable with western living, we used to say that if you saw one cloud in the sky, it would rain sometime that day.

Good read....same sort if hail storms here in the Panhandle....bad an loud. During the season I drive a flatbed 88 Toyota flatbed. Had the entire truck coated with line x bed liner after the last trip to the body shop for repairs.
It is hail proof now....last 3 big storms that damaged lots of vehicles only broke a side mirror on my daily driver work truck.

Love your tales and writing. This reminded me of my college days in Arizona in the early 70s. All I had to get to class was a bicycle. Took off one afternoon on the bike to go across campus and a monsoon just like you describe came out of absolutely nowhere as I was riding. Finally made my way back to the dorm wondering “what the hell was that?!” The native Arizonans in the dorm just laughed and laughed at me!

Was in Sin City (Tempe, that is) right next to ASU back then. Were you a SunDebbil? A Wildcat or a Lumberjack?
Oddly, the most severe AZ weather I experienced came many years afterward, driving from TX to CA, on I-10 coming out of Tucson. A really severe storm.

So, Gunner, where are the wife and kids--back in Washington? Best wishes to you and your family, and I always enjoy your writing.
My sig. other and I are contemplating moving to northern Arizona next year. I had heard of the "monsoon season," but didn't realize it was so severe.

Thanks 60Gunner. Captivating, as always. And, as always, I am holding my breath, waiting for the next part.
