WHAT ARE YOU ALL TALKING ABOUT? Why can’t you face the truth. She was a not very good candidate. She had some good moments, but she was TOO EXTREME for Delaware. Apparently NOT for Delaware Republicans who came out for the primaries, but for everyone else. It wasn’t even close. Why must you all keep lying to yourselves? You really think that if the REpublican establishment supported her she would have won? Really?

I think you’re right, Delaware is a hopeless toilet.

If Christine was such a lousy candidate how did she beat Castle?

1. It’s their job to support the primary winner.

2. The State Republican Chairman Tom Ross stated unequivocally he would not support Christine.

3. Karl Rove went on the air and all but said she was a loser then claimed to have endorsed her. Yet, here we have him continuing his petty tirade against Christine.

FUKR

The only people who delude themselves with thinking she would have won the DE Senate race are the Palinbots who delude themselves into thinking that she will be POTUS.

Hildy, while you've been away Delaware has changed. The African American community now turns out to vote, with 98%+ Democrat. They are are 20% of the population in that state!

That means that if the white community is split 50/50, the Republican has, at best 40%.

That's a big disadvantage to overcome. in fact, to win the Republican has to attract 20% of the white Democrats.

It turns out that there are nearly as many Independent registrations in the state as there are Republican, with about more than twice as many Democrat registrations.

So it's not 50/50 ~ it's more like 75/25, an almost insurmountable lead on the part of the Democrats if they get their African American vote out, and their hard-core white Democrat vote, and a small percentage of the Independents.

It doesn't take many Republicans to defect to lose it all in that state.

Some people thought Mike Castle could win ~ they neglected to vote in the primary. Frankly, I think it was a fluke when Mike won in 2008 ~ and he knew it. That's why he went for the Senate vacancy this year rather than his own seat in the House.

Maryland, the next door state that serves as Delaware's armpit, is in even worse shape. At the same time the recent arrest of Mr. Johnson, Prince George's County manager and his wife (and probably a lot of his friends) should help destabilize the African-American campaign machine lock on the vote there ~ so I'd look for some serious Republican victories in other elections over the next 3 or 4 years.

What is “wrong with us” is that we are sick and tired of the GOP deciding which Republicans are acceptable and which are not.

Christine polled very well in a state that is extremely leftist, who sent their senator to the WH.

What is wrong with you that you can’t see that the people of DE liked her? Had the GOP given her some support — INSTEAD OF INSULTING AND RIDICULING HER LIKE ROVE DID — that she may have actually had a chance.

She lost to a guy who referred to himself as a bearded Marxist. You don’t think an intelligent political party who had the best interests of its constituents (not ensuring that only those who are willing to play the footsie game once elected) could have taken out such a BAD candidate as the one who won?

What’s wrong with us is that we are PISSED OFF AT RINOS AND LEFTISTS and we want them destroyed. Utterly. Not “worked with in a bipartisan manner” which is what the GOP and Dems use as code language for “push the statist agenda, a little from the Dems, then a little from the GOP.”
