Expert says no doubt it was a missile off the California coast

Two days after a CBS news report about a possible missile launch off the coast of Los Angeles, there are few firm answers to the mystery, but many theories. On Monday evening a KCBS news helicopter filmed what appeared to be a missile launch off the coast of California, approximately 25 miles north of Catalina Island and 35 miles west of Los Angeles. Navy and Air Force officials at the Pentagon said that there no launches were planned in the area, and the U.S. Northern Command in Colorado did not detect any foreign military missile launch off the California coast. Late on Tuesday Bill Gertz of the Washington Times reported that U.S. Military officials were saying that the smoke plume may have been from an aircraft.

But one notable expert disagrees, and states categorically that it was a missile launch.

Either the government is lying to us again or there is another explanation. Taking past history into account, I go for the lying...

General McInerney was on Greta’s show tonight, and said the same thing the fellow from Jane’s claimed: it was a missile.

Seems to me both these men would know more about the subject than Gertz!

I'll buy that it was America West flight 808

It did it again yesterday (right is original "missile," left AW 808 on same route, same time, next day)

The General also said it could be a case of Black Ops, by which the government is under no obligation to affirm or deny its existence.

Add in Ellsworth, who I think was Assistant Secretary of Defense. He says it's a missile. That's three very heavy hitters.

I understand why people don't want to believe it was a missile, but the experts seem to think it was a missile.

I’ve seen a lot of jet contrails in my time. After watching the video, that was no jet. JMO.

Coulda been a center fuel tank on a Cessna 152 that didn’t file a flight plan.

I guess i don't understand missiles very well. Don't they explode? Aren't they sent to kill people? What did this one do? The “just to scare us” doesn't make much sense... I am more suspicious of obamanation’s convenient absence.

If the KCBS news helicopter is out there every day for the drive home at that time, wouldn’t they see that flight every day at that time? Why did this one spark his interest, if he sees that flight cross the horizon every evening?

Well, let’s see.
One contrail.
Aircraft produce one contrail per engine and the contrails are at high altitude where it is aboutr 40 below.
This exhaust trail starts way offshore and is visable from the surface of the water on up.

Someone is lying to us again.

I heard the interview with Ellsworth. He blurted it right out: “That’s an ICBM.” No sir, no bullshit out of his mouth.

Same with McInerney. And I too liked the statement about black ops.

Thinking about that later, though, there are many places along the California coast where such a black ops missile could be deployed from a sub and few if any people would have witnessed the event.

This was blatant, in our faces kind of act. That is why I believe the Chinese may have done this.

Definitely a missile. So that leaves us with two choices: (1) a foreign power is showing a little submarine threat close to our shore, or (2) the U.S. fired a test missile and isn’t fessing up to it. If the gov’t says they don’t know what it was, with all the defenses, satellite, radar, technology, etc. we have, then we are in deep doo doo.

I heard today that the FAA said that there were no aircraft flying in that area at that time. Somebody knows something.

A missile launch can't happen by pushing a button, Norm. It takes a command code and two keys to release.

(Don't infer from this that I don't believe it wasn't a missile launch.)

And, at the start of the flight, the “object” is below the clouds, and later, it’s above the cloud formation. Ascending, not level or descending.
