Hanging Chads and other Democrat post election stunts

As Rick Scott’s bid to win the governor’s race hung in the balance, once again Floridians were forced to wait on results from the recalcitrant Palm Beach County’s voting system.

”I don’t want to hear the word chad!” an angry Scott supporter told other up-all-night volunteers at the morning after coffee bar at the Ft. Lauderdale hotel marina. Men at one round table resorted to bandying about percentages needed to avoid a mandated recount. A Scott staffer seated at another table with her young daughter just gave a weary stare when asked, “When will we know?”

Her very slight gesture mirrored generalized helplessness in the face of yet another possible vote count debacle from a losing Democrat.

Alex Sink’s concession speech delivered Wednesday morning ended the drama, but not the questions of why we should have been forced to wait in the first place.

Please tell me why one of the country’s wealthiest counties located in the staunchly Democrat Miami Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach triangle once again can’t get its act together. Local TV anchors did a redux of the 2,000 Bush/Gore vote count disaster as their cameramen zoomed in on challenged hand count ballots.

PB ballots still require voters to draw lines to their choices when most other Florida counties have switched to the fill in the dot ballots.

Substantial quantities of ballots crossed out, redrawn, and altered by “white out” forced a three person team of a Republican, a Democrat, and a county election official to deem voter intent, one ballot at a time, hour by hour.

Radio station news reporters told listeners in the future not to use cigarette butts to change their votes on absentee ballots…. More

The lesson here is: build a big enough lead and they can't steal the election.

Palm Beach County is basically communist.

I quickly read your post and actually misread it. With that I would modify your lesson: Build a big enough lead and/or stockpile enough lead.

My ballot in CA clearly stated that any alterations to it would cause it to be thrown out. You were allowed to get a fresh one and do it over, but the altered/damaged one was trash.

So why should they even be considering a ballot with white out on it? I should automatically be thrown out.

They were waiting to see if they could manufacture enough fraudulent votes to change the outcome.

Hold up Republican areas until after the Democrats report. That way they will not know how much fraud is needed.

Well, that depends on the State. In California, you must get a new ballot, and in honest polling places, the old ones are placed in a sealed container at the same time you are handed the new ballot. No waiting, no I’ll do it later.

It seems that Florida does not have that law, or if it does, then someone needs to challege any counting of modified ballots!

when “irregularities” become normal, when bags of ballots are found after the election, etc, and we just shrug it off...I think it sets a really bad precedent.

In states were the Republicans have majorities..
we need to hold accountable every county that doesn’t purge votor records, prosecute the county registrar if necessary.

Need to have voter id...even if it offends minorities...they have an id for welfare.

Need to dunk fingers purple if necessary to prevent voters being bussed in.

We deserve better than 3rd world elections.
