Haslam showed up at a Tennessee Firearms Association meeting last night. Me and a couple of other guys including richard hamblin got him to say he would sign legislation. This helps pressure the legislature.
This has been spreading all over Tennessee. It is a big deal because Haslam has a B rating with the NRA. He was a member of Bloomberg's Mayors against guns. As Mayor he oversaw the banning of guns in Knoxville City Parks.
My audio on youtube which is only edited for time (I took out a few people's questions because they made little sense and had no relation to vermont style open carry)

I hate it when that happens.
Arizona recently passed a law, that any resident of Arizona who can legally own a gun can carry concealed without a permit. Open carry has always been legal without a permit in Arizona.
An armed citizenry is a polite citizenry.
He is slick, it took three questions to get him to say he would sign a bill and he did so reluctantly. I just read a news report where he is backing off a little.

He’s going to win and I’m glad Ramsey is still in the Senate. There is a small chance someone could introduce a permitless carry this year. Then there is my lawsuit against the State which would do the same thing if I win and the State refuses to act.
btt
Are you kidding? Tennessee only elected Bredesen because the last governor was such a RINO that he poisoned the well for the next Republican candidate.
Exactly - people have short memories sometimes. Who can forget governor Taxquest?
BTW, Chattanooga's "republican" mayor Littlefield is of the same mold as Sundquest - tax and spend RINO. He pushed annexation to try to gobble up as much prime property into the city as possible, then when that stalled, he raised property taxes 19%. He needs to be rejected regardless of his next political move. He, and the RINO leadership, think he can be the next Bob Corker. Not on my watch!
Ramsey was the best candidate in the primary. He was actually a conservative, not just a RINO masquerading as one. Unfortunately, he lost the primary, and we have Haslam. This happens in Tennessee a lot, apparently. The RINO party leadership always pushes the most liberal republican possible.
At any rate, the primary's over and Haslam is the republican candidate. Let's hope he can stay on the right side of the aisle.
Open primary is the cause and too many conservatives split right bloc
State GOP here did not endorse anyone....not this time but they did with Corker.
Haslam just had so much cash too.
great work
btw...Nashville Scene are such fags....they are even worse than when Dobie ran the place.
I only asked the first question about constitutional carry. The followups were tough and I think Richard Hamblin’s question about pragmatism and what sacrifices he would make to the constitution in favor of pragmatism got Haslam to open up and commit.
r u in metro area?
i’m in Williamson...out tween Lewisburg and Columbia pikes
Northern Williamson County. I live near Forest Hills, Belle Meade and Oak Hill. Which is why I was in Belle Meade and Radnor Lake. Those areas are extremely close to my house.
I didn’t know that. But if it’s only applicable to AZ residents it is still more restrictive than VT or AK.
Yes it is more restrictive, it’s been a one step at a time process, but we’ve gained more than 47 states.
That’s great and I’m glad to hear it. I wish CO and NM would do the same.
