Michael Medved is devoting his show this hour, to savaging her, of course he is of the Rove/Romney part of the GOP.

The First Amendment does? ODonnell asked. Let me just clarify: Youre telling me that the separation of church and state is found in the First Amendment?
Government shall make no establishment of religion, Coons responded, reciting from memory the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. (Coons was off slightly: The first amendment actually reads Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.)
Thats in the First Amendment...? ODonnell responded.
The difference between Congress and Government is significant.
“law respecting an establishment of religion” is nothing like “establishment of religion”
The socialist law students who laughed at her should be stood up against a wall and shot.
It’s a bad law school.
We have too many lawyers and not enough real citizens.
O'Donnell doesn't express herself well, at all. She comes off looking and sounding like a high-school kid. Sadly, she was correct but incoherent in her explanation.
Some think it was a trap. It’s hard to predict that Coons would screw up the 1A that badly.
She left it open ended. Perhaps she realized that leaving it that way would invite the controversy that she could play upon later. Not sure either way.
It would be cool if Clarence Thomas could do an ad for Christine. I believe that’s probably illegal, maybe?
He graduated from Yale Law, and wrote a concurrence in the Elk Grove case where he said that there should be no incorporation re establishment clause.
Shame on you Chris Coons for getting the 1A so completely wrong. says Clarence Thomas.
There’s also a decent chance that anything that isn’t part of her attack would be considered “off message” So, it’s possible that Coons error was intentionally designed to take Christine off message.
No harm having the Fox Conservatives tonight explaining how Chris Coons reading of the 1A is very very wrong. In fact, Chris Coons is the stupid one.
like those ignorant law school students who had no idea the First Amendment does not say Separation of Church and State...neither do many folks here either
no one even mentions Everson or the Baptists
Maybe correct; I didn’t see a video of it. However, any group of honest un-brainwashed students of the law would have known what she meant. If I could readily understand her question, they should have been able to also. Also, if you listen closely to the exchange, her opponent [amidst the laughter said “Good question...”, thinking he had a good answer to he question]. She was in enemy territory and I think did quite well for not having been trained for combat.
What is wrong with these people? We are definetly seeing the division for sure. Im glad Im on the right side. Medved is an idiot. Wonder what Savage says?
Oh and by the way, I know that alot of folks here have given into Rove. But I have not, I am very disappointed in him and do not prescribe to his way of thinking. I now hang up when he calls.
Oh and one more thing, Rush better NEVER let Rove sit in for him again. When pigs fly!!! Okay Im done, sorry. lol
Medved has really turned into a POS. I stopped listening to him years ago and I see I have not missed a thing.
Because Rove has an opinion different than yours?
Oh yes, we can't have that. O Discordia!
Finally someone on our side is willing to attack.
In order to win this cultural war we have to get on the offensive, and strike at every basic foundation of the leftist world view, of which “separation of church and state” as defined by Everson is part of.
We can’t advance if we are always on the defensive such as when we “ban gay marriage”, which is fine, but it’s a defensive move against their offense of attacking marriage. Let’s make them play defense for change.
yep
