Robert Klein Engler, a sociology adjunct professor for the past 12 years, found himself fired from Chicagos Roosevelt University after one anonymous students complaint. Trying to remember what it exactly was, his lawyer Doug Ibendahl recalls, Its pretty funny actually. Could have been on Leno or Letterman. Robert can correct me if I get a detail wrong, but basically it was supposedly: A group of sociologists did a poll in Arizona about the new immigration law. 60 percent said they were in favor. And 40 percent said no habla English. Forgive my bad Spanish.
Apparently, Roosevelt University never cared that late night talk hosts and President Obama himself joked about Arizonas immigration law this year.
Engler, who says his conservative views are easily discovered online, was told to meet with university officials immediately. When he asked for written explanations of accusations against him prior to meeting among other issues involved he discussed with me, he was accused of declining a meeting and subsequently fired.
Was the university aware of your personal political views before the incident? How does it treat openly liberal professors? I imagine they were. My life and politics are available on the Internet for anyone who wants to know about them. Just search with Google. My books are available there, too, and at Lulu.com. I have no evidence that they treat openly liberal professors with any bias. Remember, Im just an adjunct professor. There is a big difference in how they are treated, compared to tenured professors.
Do you think its possible they had been planning to fire you previously due to personal disagreements about your views and simply used this as an excuse now that they finally had a valid one?

“no speakee ingles,” is how it goes.
I think it’s a funny little joke.
People need to remove the sticks from their rear ends.
Actually, I think they need wooden stakes trough some other end.
Some evidently have replaced the sticks with their heads.
Those sticks take the place of spines for university professors.
The school was also the stalking grounds of the ambitious Barack Obama who served a couple years in its Law School as a "Senior Lecturer". The contacts he made there still serve him well.
Commies like professor Bill Ayers who taught at the neighboring University of Illinois Chicago Campus have always been at Barack's left hand, helping to move him up, up and away....to the ultimate goal......the presidency.

True, the U. of Chicago has had its share of leftists. But please take note of its economics department which has been home to some famous free marketeers such as Milton Freedman and Hayek. So it's not all left.
College campuses have had these “political correctness” problems for decades. Every incident one hears about seems to be more outrageous than the last one.
