Levi Johnston looked like he was about to cry as he endured a withering interrogation by the ladies of ‘The View‘ Monday morning.
Johnston, the 20-year-old Alaskan, who’s best known as the publicity seeking father of Bristol Palin’s baby, was raked over the coals by Barbara Walters and company on the daytime talk show. The segment aired just a few minutes after the co-hosts discussed last Thursday’s dramatic walkout by Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg during an appearance by Bill O’Reilly.

In introducing the inexperienced Johnston, Walters made it plain she doesn’t think much of him. “You and I have not met,” Barbara said, seemingly through clenched teeth. “I have to say that in my own mind, I have walked out on you many times,” Walters scolded. “You became famous for impregnating a 17-year-old girl, you’re 20 years old, you don’t have a high school diploma yet, you don’t have a trade, now you’re running for mayor [of Wasilla, Alaska, pop: 10,000]. Would it not be better for you, instead of just seeking publicity, to learn a trade, to find a job, to get an education, and to support your son?”
Visibly stunned by this dubious welcome, Johnston lamely attempted to distribute a yellow rose to each of the five women, who rejected the flowers and demanded he answer Barbara.
“I’m gonna have to say running for mayor is a job, that is a job I want to take,” Johnston stammered, while the co-hosts hammered him with questions.
“What are your qualifications?”
“Qualifications for mayor? There really are none,” he answered defensively. “You gotta live in the city limits for one year, you don’t need a high school diploma, which I’m working on anyway.”
“You have people who have serious problems [in Wasilla],” said Sherri Shepherd. “Do you really think you’re giving the people of Wasilla any kind of respect by honestly saying you’re gonna run for mayor? Do you think you’re hurting the people of Wasilla?”
“I don’t see how I’m hurting them any more than the next guy,” Johnston said.

Whoopi Goldberg asked him to outline his platform, to which Johnston replied, “At this point, I couldn’t tell ya.”
With that, it was Shepherd’s turn to take him to task. “Usually when people say they’re running for mayor they’ve thought about it before they actually run,” she scoffed.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck asked him to comment on Bristol’s performance so far on ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ “Are you watching her tonight when she dances?” Hasselbeck inquired.
“I’ve seen her one time … I wish her the best of luck,” he said politely.
“How often do you see your son?” fired Walters.
“When I’m in Alaska and [Bristol is also] there, yeah, I have him,” Levi said, looking like he was about to tear up.
In their zeal to grill Johnston, the ladies’ questions overlapped. “What’s motivating you [to run for office]?” asked Joy, while Sherri demanded to know what party he was representing (“Conservative,” he answered).
When the segment was over, Walters thanked him for being a good sport. Earlier in the interview, Johnston declared that he doesn’t regret anything he’s done in his life (in answer to a question from Joy about why he posed nude in Playgirl). By the end of his segment, he may have been moved to amend that statement to say he regrets coming on ‘The View.’ But if he did regret it, he didn’t say so.

Do you suppose Meghan harbors a secret crush on Levi? Might that be the reason Meghan hates all things Palin?
Surprised the ‘View’ crones didn’t double book Levi and the pampered pumpkin.

A rich, semi-famous beer heiress can’t get a date? Actually, if I were 20-25 years younger, single and didn’t know she was a loon, she’d be my type. I like some meat on them bones.
Levi really has been asking for it, but just who are these women (definitely not ladies) to point out his shortcomings anyway?
They pounced on him like they were clean as the driven snow, yet the world has seen their dirty laundry - they have written books and have done interviews telling all, like they’re proud of their affairs, etc. - then lambaste Levi for his stupid decisions.
They invited him on knowing full well what they were going to do, for ratings or whatever, but it was planned. And aren’t these some of the same ones who yap about conservatives being mean and nasty?
The reason she keeps clenching them is because otherwise, they would fall out.
A question nobody bothered to ask Barack.
How does one live with oneself and look at themselves in a mirror with this huge idiocy hanging over their heads?!?
So very sad for Bristol and her child that this jerk turned out this way instead of fulfilling his true responsibilities as a man.
Odd that these harpies would attack him. They are liberal pukes who don’t care about Wasilla - their opinion was that Sarah Palin’s job as Mayor was of no value, but now suddenly there are people there who need help and the Mayor is important? Perhaps the producer received some ugly email regarding the treatment of Bill O. and decided they needed to pretend to care about someone other than their liberal friends?
