I hate to have to agree with you on that latter, but I am forced to strongly agree based on the way the world works these days, with way too many overzealous cops and prosecutors trying to make names for themselves. This guy explains it really, really well:

No one is accusing her of murder, but she does seem to be covering for someone else. There's only one way two people can keep a secret, so the truth will come out in this case. She has no lawyer other than maybe a media rep. If she did she wouldn't be giving interviews, with shifting facts and claims. She's flip-flopping which is a red flag.
