Kentucky Democratic State Senator Mike Reynolds has been caught on tape calling his constituents ‘rednecks’ while speaking to a Western Kentucky University class.
“Excuse my French, but my redneck constituency out here, you know, in far out in Kentucky doesn’t like that very much”, Reynolds said in reference to health care for illegal immigrants.

Newsflash: Rednecks come from working outside. I guess dems ideas on shovel ready jobs means indoor political flunky jobs that last 6 weeks.
Nothing will happen. He’s a dem, and they are not held to the same standards as normal people. Can’t expect much from them.
They may care about that inside the Beltway, but here in the midwest redneck is as much a compliment as it is a slur.
Now, cracker, white trash, or maybe even hillbilly might get your ass kicked. But not redneck.
the Demagogues’ idea of a good “shovel-ready job” is hiring more PR twits to SHOVEL more b.s. upon the public.... i.e., to help Baghdad Bob get out the “message” that Obozo’s radical agenda is not really the bull manure that we all know it to be....
I’m a proud redneck but it would appear that this a$$ used it as a term of denigration.
I don’t think rednecks get all that offended at being called rednecks. They don’t tend to be pansy a**ed liberals where offense is a fashion item.

Well then, all I can say is that I am terribly offended by Reynolds’ remarks.
It’s like blacks calling each other the “N” word- I don’t mind being called that by fellow rednecks, I just don’t want to hear flag-burning, limpwristed, tea-sipping-with-pinkie-stuck-out bedwetters calling me that.
So why should HE be different from every other member of the ruling class?
